Dabin continues his hot streak with another Kannibalen Release, this time an EP entitled Hold / She Was. This three track project is fit with two originals, including a feature with long time collaborator Daniela Andrade. Their work on “Hold” is a magical venture into an anthemic future style. Coming second is a harder original that is stacked with more bass. “She Was” still has that soft tone that Dabin has been continuously shaping over the year. If two originals weren’t enough for you, Stolensnares dished out a future bass remix of “Hold” that adds a nice concluding touch to the EP. Dabin will be embarking on a huge tour in 2016 with label mates Black Tiger Sex Machine and Apashe that will take them all over North America. Dates and information can be found here. If they go anywhere near you, make sure you make it! These three together are an experience like none other.

Dubstep | Brig Unleashes Best Tune Yet “Contrition,” Sets New Standard For Russian Bass

Three days ago Brig dropped a masterpiece. Contrition is a well crafted piece through and through, with an intoxicating melody and rhythmic bass that goes so well with the song. From the incredible intro with chorus like vocals and sweeping sound provided by the synthesizers it sets the song up for greatness. The build ups are good and then the first bass drop will grab your attention with its complexity, although not too complex, and creativeness.

Brig may be an underground artist now but with “Contrition” he is clearly seeking to change that. The level of skill he provides along with unique sound gives a sense of his thoughtfulness and devotion to quality music.

Deep House, Dubstep, Future Trap, House | Dabin’s “Touch” Gets Three Sexy Makeovers For Kannibalen Records

As if Dabin’s original single “Touch” with Daniela Andrade wasn’t beautiful enough, Kannibalen Records enlists three remixes for the magnificent musical specimen. As you can expect from the Kannibalen crew, they diversify the EP with sounds ranging from club-friendly side, to the headphones and chill side. Kicks N Licks bring the bass with their dubby interpretation that plays towards a festival friendly style. Ghosts, who already has a strong catalog of quality remixes, adds another with one of the most sensational house tracks that has graced the deeper side of the genre. Lastly, Imagined Herbal Flows brings a downtempo future remix that rounds out the EP quite nicely. Dabin and company only brought three tracks to the table, but they weren’t messing around with their choices. Suffice to say, the Touch Remixes EP is definitely worth the purchase price!

Dubstep | Kai Wachi Gets Nasty With New Single “X”

Kai Wachi is known for his grizzly sound design and his hybrid style. The Kannibalen Records member is continuing his reign of destructive bass tracks with his new single simply titled “X.” It starts off with a four-to-the-floor beat that gets the energy going in a hurry, but soon a subtle breakdown takes over, building up the track into the heavy chaos that is to come. When the drop hits, it’s absolute bananas. The rough bass that was teased in the introduction takes over, and instead of melting your face, it will obliterate it completely. If you’re looking for a track to rage to mid-week, then you’ve come to the right place. “X” is pure madness.

There’s something to be said about growing up the ‘90s, an era where punk and pop reigned supreme, while bands like Nirvana, Blink 182, and Sum 41 providing the soundtracks to our childhoods. Fast forward over twenty years, and punk-pop has been pushed from the spotlight by electronic dance music, but Kasum is managing to blend the two to great success. He’s already taken on nearly every punk classic from the 90s, including Third Eye Blind’s “Semi-Charmed Life” and Green Day’s “Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” and today, we’ve got a re-imagination of Avril Lavigine’s “Complicated” featuring vocals from Megan Hamilton and Kasum himself. Kasum infuses “Complicated” with a melodic dubstep makeover, as he combines thrilling guitar riffs with Hamilton’s vocals to send waves of nostalgia coursing through your body.
