Hip-Hop, Rap | Scolla – Play It Cool (ft. Skewby)
Posted by admin on October 7, 2014

Feel-good rap is too hard to come by nowadays. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not mad at any stripclub anthems that have been put out in 2014, however, with the recent release of Kendrick Lamar’s “i”, it seems as if positive vibes and less-booty shaking might be returning to hip-hop.
Here to add to that movement is Scolla with his new Skewby assisted track, “Play It Cool”. The song displays Scolla’s infectious melodies as well as the raw rapping ability of both him and Memphis native, Skewby.
Follow Scolla on SoundCloud and dig a little deeper in to the music!

Ace Cosgrove hails from the DMV, and is no newcomer to Fresh New Tracks. His soulful twist on rap saw him relative success leading up to the release of this tape. And now that UsvsRobots is finally available to the world, it’s only a matter of time before things really propel to the next level.
The DMV has been incredibly strong recently, and everyone is awaiting the next artist to pop. Take a listen below and see why it might just be Ace Cosgrove.
Alternative, Indie | BEND – Four

Nothing excites me quite as much as young people with a passion for music.
Enter: BEND, the duo of college students who make indescribable Pop/Indie/Alternative sounds from their respective dorm rooms. Both originally from Los Angeles, vocalist, Sean, relocated to New York while producer, Garrett, stayed close to home at the University of Southern California.
Limited by their time apart during the school year, BEND spends countless hours during the Summer writing, producing, and recording. As they prepare to release their next project, Sean and Garrett unleash, “Four”. The song is co-produced by blackbear and shows the immense all-around talent of the band.
It had been nearly a year since last putting out a song. The artistic growth is palpable, and one can only imagine what is still in the vault, awaiting the public’s ears.
If you’re a fan, check out Garrett’s solo cover of the Baby Bash smash, “Suga Suga”, here.
Chill, Pop, RnB | FNT Premiere: Greg Aram – Alone
Posted by admin on October 1, 2014
Greg Aram is an goldmine of raw, undiscovered talent.
His first official video release, “Alone”, paints the picture of heartbreak in the form of a somber R&B-pop ballad. While his songwriting certainly needs a little honing, the soulful voice that Aram brings to the table is reason enough to listen to “Alone”.
The video is simple, yet entrancing. A view at what the song can mean to people. Here’s what the director had to say: “We believed that the end of a relationship is a lot like being in “the club” and not the hyper exaggerated version we see on tv. Instead we show a place filled with life and color yet it is still hollow and lacks feeling. It’s a place where the ability to connect to others is gone and instead we just have individuals in a space feeling lost and broken.”
Enjoy the Greg Aram song and video, there’s plenty more on the horizon.
Albums | Tate Tucker – M.O.E.
Posted by admin on September 26, 2014
Hailing from Los Angeles, Tate Tucker is the agile rapper that first got his shine off of a 5 minute freestyle over the famous “93 ’til” instrumental.
He’s come a long way since his high school rap days, and just last week dropped a stunning new video for his song titled, “Money Over Everything”.
Tate is a talented rapper and backed with the forward thinking production of Garrett Lodge, “M.O.E.” is really the full package.
Electronic, Hip-Hop | Daytrip – The Escape (ft. Treez Lowkey, Daye Jack, Kidepo)
Posted by admin on September 15, 2014

The journey forges on as the Daytrip boys stop off in Port-au-Prince with fellow rising stars, Treez Lowkey, Daye Jack, and Kidepo. The song is ferocious, you can almost see these artists sprinting through the tropical Port-au-Prince landscape. The question is did they make it out alive?
Treez Lowkey busts out of the gate and kicks things off with his verse, followed by the croon of Daye Jack. However, it has to be the vocalist Kidepo who steals the show. His silky outro calms the storm and makes you think that whatever it was Daytrip was escaping from, they did successfully.
Hip-Hop | Jon Waltz – Victoria (ft. Allan Kingdom)
Posted by admin on September 12, 2014

Jon Waltz is slowly, but surely finding his way to the top of my “Up and Comers to Watch Out For” list. On his most recent release Waltz teams up with Allan Kingdom, a rapper from up north who has been causing a buzz alongside Spooky Black and their clique, The Standard.
The two oddball rappers fit perfectly on this track and make a record that is equal parts melodic as it is eccentric.
Wherever Victoria is out there, hopefully she heard this song.
