Alternative, Chill, Indie, Pop, Videos | Connor Zwetsch – All That I Feel (Video)
Posted by J_Salzer on October 28, 2012
Easily one of favorite my singer/songwriters, and close friend of Fresh New Tracks, Connor Zwetsch releases her newest emotionally-charged track. On “All That I Feel”, Connor’s lyrics are deeper than I’ve ever seen, and her voice is better than ever. The video isn’t anything special or overly dramatic, but with a track like this, it doesn’t need to be. I can’t say enough about Connor’s songwriting skills in this song. In a world where every artist is out here editing their voice, or using autotune, Connor is a breath of fresh air. Her natural sound is exactly what mainstream music is missing. Check out the video above and like her facebook page below.
Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap | Jetpack Jones – Life’s a Beach ft. Reem Riches (Prod. By D.Shuts)
Posted by J_Salzer on October 21, 2012
FNT favorite(and veteran) Jetpack Jones releases ANOTHER free, quality, single for his loyal crew. Although I believe that the whole concept of “life is a beach(bitch?)” is overused, the message behind it is deep and meaningful. Jetpack conveys that message in a unique, catchy, and fun way, as he does with so many other mantras. Grab the download below and like his facebook page to show your support and get the latest on the Lakewood native.
Hip-Hop, Rap | Kendrick Lamar – The Heart Pt. 3 (Prod. by Tae Beast)
Posted by J_Salzer on October 20, 2012
Nobody can touch Kendrick Lamar right now. I’ve been accused of being “on his dick” by many, many, readers. Although I’m very offended(not) by that, it doesn’t change my opinion or (non homosexual) love for Kendrick Lamar. His album, “good kid, mAAd city,” will without a doubt be one of the most complete projects of 2012, and I encourage everyone to support the Compton native when it releases tomorrow. This track is no different, packed with signature Kendrick emotional bars and an eerie beat. Grab the download below courtesy of TDE Entertainment.
Pop, Videos | Justin Bieber ft. Nicki Minaj – Beauty and a Beat (Music Video)
Posted by J_Salzer on October 13, 2012
Well, here I am. Watching College Gameday while reviewing Justin Bieber’s latest video, please, judge me accordingly. J.Biebz decided to get a little tricky with the release of this music video. Sometime earlier this week, Justin reported his laptop stolen, or something like that. Then, everyone was buzzing about a potential sex tape(ew?), which just turned out to be this video. Honestly, I don’t hate this song. I don’t find much enjoyment in Justin’s lyrical ability, but he does have a knack for catchy melodies and there’s no way this beat cannot get stuck in your head. Enjoy the Biebs newest video, and thank God it’s not a sex tape.
Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap | Tayyib Ali ft. Nick Pratt – I’ll Be Dat (Prod. by La Harrier)
Posted by J_Salzer on October 3, 2012
Pennsylvania native Tayyib ali links up with newcomer Nick Pratt to create a perfect track to cruise to as your fall begins. La Harrier produces a jazz like beat with some southern style present, and Tayyib hops on and brings his classic flow to give us all a preview of what’s in store for Keystone State of Mind 2. Although I haven’t heard much of Nick Pratt, his verse was promising and I look forward to hearing more from him. Keystone State of Mind was one of my favorite tracks from 2011, but this might be my new favorite Tayyib song. Shout out to my boy Andrew Kenny for the scoop on this track.
BONUS: While I was searching for a picture of Tayyib, I found this track of his released last week and I didn’t see it posted so…here.
Chill, Hip-Hop | Jetpack Jones – Glow ft. LB (Prod. by Casey Calhoun)
Posted by J_Salzer on September 30, 2012
Lakewood’s hardest working emcee, Jetpack Jones, is back and better than ever with my favorite single of his to date. I find myself saying that each single he releases is my favorite of everything he’s released, which shows how incredible his progression is. When I first heard his music, a year and a half ago, I immediately fell in love with his unique style of rapping. 18 months later, he’s stayed true to his rapping roots, all the while improving his craft. This is the second single off of his next project, Jetpack Odyssey. Grab the track below courtesy of Jetpack and make sure you like his Facebook page below.
Chill, Cover, Hip-Hop, Indie, Reggae, Videos | Aer – Two Coins (Dispatch Cover)
Posted by J_Salzer on September 26, 2012
Damn. Now listen, I’m not the BIGGEST Aer fan, and I don’t claim to be. But I do know their music pretty well, but I had no idea Carter had pipes like this. Now of course, I’m not saying he should be rivaling Colin McLaughlin on The Voice anytime soon. But for a rapping duo, it’s awesome to have someone who can sing to change up the pace/feel a little. David is on the guitar, and Carter is singing, for all you ladies out there who need that information. They absolutely destroy this cover, making it a perfect track to relax you in the middle of the week. I’m seeing Aer live this weekend, so if anyone has any questions for them, hit me up on Twitter(@J_Salzer), and I’ll get them answered.
