Born in the Zimbabwean capital of Harare, Charmaine relocated to the United States at the age of five, bouncing around the Midwest with her family at first before eventually settling in Nashville for a large chunk of her childhood. Living in the American South was an eye-opening experience but by the time high school rolled around, Charmaine was already on the way to her next culture shock, this time heading north of the border to Toronto, where life would soon take a dark turn. “After we moved to Toronto, my dad got laid off,” says Charmaine, “and quickly after that, we lost our house. We went to a shelter and then ended up living in a motel, all six of us in this tiny little room with just a hot plate for a kitchen.” Throughout her family’s frequent moves and financial struggles, Charmaine had always turned to music as a source of comfort and stability, something she could rely on for emotional support no matter how difficult things got. The first day of fall can always be bitter sweet. You know Summer is over, you look back on all the memories, though the holidays are coming, so you have something to look forward to. This makes for a great intro for the track I’m about to feature by Campsite Dream “Smooth Operator.” Many of you might have heard the record in your parent’s car on the radio on your way to school, or getting picked up – that lite FM channel was always my mom’s go to. Dutch production duo East & Young are turning ears up with an all new single “Elevate”, or should we say elevating ears. The piano-driven tune is suitable for dance-floors far and wide, as it builds slowly from the intro and breaks out into a sonic climax complete with booming drums and layered melodies. “Elevate” is out now.
Future House | Oliver Heldens & Tiesto Keep the Dutch Proud with “Wombass”

Oliver Heldens continues to be the ringleader of bringing future house to the mainstream with his latest collaboration, “Wombass,” with dance music veteran, Tiesto. The track has been a regular in the sets of both DJs for some months now, and has finally made its release with a bonus music video to go along. The pumping bass line and groovy synths make the track an instant dance floor anthem. Following the man deemed the “Wombass,” the music video takes a strange turn once we see him dancing and gyrating around his ridiculous pink stretch limo. The video continues its odd nature as Heldens and Tiesto receive a text and just walk away from whatever is occupying them at the moment to presumably meet up with Wombass. Progressive House | Dutch Superproducer Releases “You Were Never There” Under B_RDX Alias

B_RDX woke up this week and felt the need to share the music he’s been working on, for the past few years with the world, blending progressive elements with electronica, to make for music that will have you taking flight. His track “You Were Never There” is a new wave of progressive, which brings the vibes, minus the cheesiness. Don’t want to give too much away, knowing the identity of this super producer, but all I can say is he’s from the Netherlands, and has been receiving support from some of the top DJs/Producers in his country! If I were a singer/songwriter, I’d be all over this! This is a must listen!
Videos | Armin van Buuren Joined on Stage by Dutch King and Queen; Everything Makes Sense Again

Here is a video of Armin van Buuren being joined on stage by the King and Queen of the Netherlands, who made an impromptu pit stop at this apparent rave while probably en route to a ball and/or palace.
This video is perfect. Several things:
1) There are currently multiple comments on YouTube alleging that Armin is, in fact, the real King in the North King of the Netherlands and the other guy’s an impostor. Interesting theory.
2) I’m assuming that this is the Dutch equivalent of the Obamas getting on stage with Skrillex at Ultra. Awesome; also excellent visual.
3) In that vein, I’d really like to live in a country where Armin van Buuren is backed by a symphony orchestra and kings and queens come out to wave to the adoring populace as the dulcet sounds of trance and violins fill the air. Armin van Buuren: Dutch National Treasure.
4) The Queen is kind of a babe, no?
5) Coolest royal family ever. Sorry England — until Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles are photographed waving glow sticks at Ministry of Sound, I don’t want to hear about it.
BREAKING: I’ve just been informed that this is a video of King Willem-Alexander’s inauguration, where Armin was specifically asked to perform. However, what King Willem-Alexander isn’t telling you is that the whole inauguration thing was actually a ploy; he really just wanted to see Armin drop his Dead London edit of “Stresstest.”
