I’ve been a fan of SomeKindaWonderful since their debut single, “Reverse,” off of their first studio album, SomeKindaWonderful. The Cleveland-based rock band has been on a steady rise to stardom, as their unique fusion of electronic music with live elements of a rock band is hard to find in dance music. Today, they’ve teamed up with fellow electronic rockers, Ratatat, for a mashup of their unreleased track, “The Problematics,” with Ratatat’s new single, “Cream on Chrome” that will blow you away. Ratatat’s electro-rock production provides the perfect canvas for vocalist Jordy Towers’ alluring croons. Plain and simple, this track is some kinda wonderful. Konec has been a machine lately when it comes to releasing music. Unlike other artist who tend to sit on a track for months at a time, Konec holds no barred with his releases, which is a good thing in my opinion. Go ahead and classify this tracks genre however you want, for all I care you can call it neurotrapstep, but it is a quality tune.  This fusion of multiple styles in one track is what gives it a flavor of its own and separates it from the rest. Konec seems to be starting this new trend of four to floor 140bpm tracks. Although we don’t see it in this track, if you check out the mix he did for BassCollective(linked below) you can definitely see it in his new unreleased stuff along with his released track ‘Railgun’ . Either way grab this free download along with mix from the links below.

Events, Review | Toulouse in Toulouse: Nicky Romero at Opium Club

Posted by on April 8, 2012

Whenever an artist names a song after a city and they play a show in said city, it is a special show for both the people in attendance and the artist. Nicky Romero has really exploded into 2012 with the December release of his track “Toulouse” and Thursday night was his first visit to the city that has helped sparked his fame. Though he was sipping on some Perrier with a straw (bawse) he still knew how to party, throwing winks at random chicks dancing on the bar, high fiving fans, and raging in the Dj booth. He played a well thought out, calculated set from the first to the last song with a few unreleased track, including the first ever play of his remix of the Zedd produced Eva Simons – I Don’t Even Like You (short video below, notice the ass slapping motion, the song is that filthy). Rest of the recap after the jump.

Dubstep | R Rated #11

Posted by on January 11, 2012

With the start of a new year, Mach and I were talking about what tracks we would like to see released in 2012 that were not released last year. The funny thing was, we both named the same track as our most wanted unreleased track. Gemini’s style is second to none and it can be seen through this track and his other releases.  Seems as though the only way this track might get released is if we bug Gemini enough to where he gets tired of hearing about it. So everyone who wants this track knows what to do; get on twitter and get to work haha. Now time for some nasty tunes.

All I could think to myself at the start of this song was that I couldn’t stand Cascada’s voice in this track. After the drop all I could think to myself was how I love Cascada’s voice in this track. Barron bringing the filth with this drop and it is a 100 times better than his voltage remake.

Justin Perea goes all out on this remix of We Are Massive. The drop reminds me of Alvin Risk’s style which probably explains why I can’t stop listening to it.

Mach and I both agreed that we liked this drop better than the original drop. Kabuki Zombie takes another route to creating the drop than Doctor P did and it makes the track sound heavier.

It has been a while since we got a release from J.Rabbit. Terravita released a little two track EP and this monster was on there.

Candyland is another new comer to the dubstep genre and lately he has been putting out some sick tracks. This one in particular caught my attention starting off with a nice melody into a sudden, but monstrous drop.

Dubstep, Hip-Hop | The Glitch Mob – Black Aura Ft. Theophilus London

Zeds Dead just dropped an unreleased track, why not The Glitch Mob too? I posted Theophilus London last weekend stating we rarely get to post him up, but look at us now. His verses are tight to this sick glitch-hop track. This track of theirs was created back in 2009, but no matter, it is always nice to get something unreleased. Especially a sweet track like this.

Hip-Hop | Kid Cudi – To Da Top

Posted by on November 7, 2011

Here’s an unreleased track from Kid Cudi, titled “To Da Top” that serves as proof to the rumors that Kid Cudi was behind the genius phrase, “That Shit Cray”, which Kanye West uses in the hit single, N***** In Paris, off Watch The Throne. It takes a minute or so for the track to get going, but once it does Kid Cudi does his thing.
