The White Panda is off to a great start this year. They’ve been releasing one remix after the next and their latest might be the duo’s best yet. It’s an official remix of Bebe Rexha’s catchy single “I Got You” and The White Panda has just given it the dance floor treatment. From the brass booms to the infectious vocal chops to the dynamic percussion, there’s plenty to enjoy from this remix. Rumor has it they’ll begin dishing out original tracks later this year which will be a big moment for them as they’ve only released mashups and remixes to date. Everybody loves the story of an underdog. While The White Panda are by no means small in size, the masked duo have faced a handful of setbacks over the past year due to copyright issues with their awesome mashups. With that said, they seem to be making a comeback now with a fresh pair of remixes. A couple weeks ago, they dropped an official remix for Timeflies and have now shared their official remix for JAHKOY’s latest single, “California Heaven” featuring Schoolboy Q. The summery rework incorporates a friendly chord progression, smooth vocals and cinematic strings to add a unique touch to the song. In short, it’s fire. The homie DJ Prime sent over an invite to his show tomorrow at the newly renovated Starland Ballroom opening for The White Panda, and Cash Cash. It had been a minute that I’d heard from the White Panda and what they’ve been mashing up, and yes they’re still killing the game. Check out this synth heavy mash up they did of Martin Garrix’s “Animals” with Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe,” also available for free download. The White Panda unleashes this heavenly mash of Wale and Dillion Francis. Some artists acapella’s sound good over anything. Wale is one of those artists. I’m not sure what it is, but when you put Wale’s vocals over fast, funky, dance beats, the result is always audio gold. The video above is one I took about 2 weeks ago at my home of Martha’s Vineyard. I was honestly surprised when I found out they were coming because Nectars, the place they performed at, only fits about 100 people. I still had fun. The guys really know how to work the crowd.
It is about damn time The White Panda released something that isn’t a mashup. I will give it straight, I have not been impressed by much since Pandamonium dropped. I am really loving this track, one of their better works for sure.

The White Panda definitely dropped some better full lengths this time around. I love these types of mashups, they feel like the true colored style of the genre. “I Want Brooklyn Back” is just a good vibes mashup and a great listen. Now “D.R.E. Don’t Go” is a little more upbeat and nice mashup at that. The White Panda is good for sure, I hope the next two they drop will be some of their more popular tracks from Pandamonium.
