I am getting tired of frat rap. It’s not that I don’t respect what all the frat rappers are doing but it is the guys and gals that spit verses that reflect the hard knocks of life that really speak to me. It shouldn’t matter if you come from the hood or the laxed suburbs, life isn’t easy for most of us. MTV happened to premiere this video a few days ago and I can see why. Life is about the fight, Doley Bernays and Denzil Porter speak that truth. With all this Will.I.Am drama going around, I hope that Deadmau5 can see that his samples used on this track are no insult but rather a compliment to his incredible original production. “Raise your Weapon” is off of Doley Bernays’ latest mixtape “Wrong Turn Into Yesterday.”

Above is a cool visual that is mixed well into the remix by Simp. Watching it makes me wonder… if we lived in a dimension where time was set to 18,000fps, would we even know the difference? haha, trippy. Anyways, ’til this day I’m still constantly jaded by having a musical taste that revolves solely around simplified beats that are no greater than hip-hop instrumentals. Twisted vocal samples, mingled with subtle sonic arrangements that aren’t so repetitive is all I need. That said, let’s hear some.
A superb new track from Affelaye, previously known as Joe Martin. All I know is that his productions are by far some of the cleanest, well put together beats I’ve heard. Listen below.

The viral video craze that accompanies Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” has hit the stratosphere in the last week as thousands of YouTube users upload their own chaos filled videos to the trap beat. To my surprise, not many opportunistic rappers have jumped on it. I guess it was a perfect fit for PropaneLv and the next installment in his cover series – and he had the LTRMN goons on deck to give his video for it the usual Harlem Shake treatment. My favorite and your’s, Jetpack Jones, hits us with ANOTHER free mixtape. Jetpack is one of my favorite rappers out right now, because his music puts you in a different mindset than most of the stuff you hear on Worldstar or something. Don’t get me wrong, I like gangster rap as much as the next blogger, but sometimes I need a change of pace. Jetpack Jones is that change of pace. Mike Ballz is one of my favorite up and coming rappers. And after an extremely long hiatus from making music, he’s back, and better than ever. Mike is a breath of fresh air for the rapping game, and I don’t think I’ve ever been disappointed listening to a song of his. That being said, his latest track has not broken that trend. A phenomenal beat, with some quality bars that Mike lays down. Grab the track and be on the lookout for information regarding an album release.
