Ah snap, III points just announced their lineup for their upcoming festival in Wynwood, Florida October 10th to the 12th and it includes the likes of Flying Lotus, Lykke Li, Duke Dumont, Kaytranada, Cashmere Cat, Chet Faker, and more! To sum it all up, all the cool kids will be there! Included in the email was this super chill mix by Dinnerdate that I’ve been vibing to, which is only making me look forward to this upcoming 3 day weekend! Thank god it’s Thursday, and it’s looking like this Summer will be filled with must see festivals! At the sound of it, you’re not going to want to miss this one!

It’s Memorial Day Weekend coming in just 2 days, so that means you can break out those white shorts / pants, get ready for the unofficial start of summer and enjoy a long weekend of drinking outside. Take a good hard look at that lineup and try to find a reason why you should not attend the North Coast Music Festival in Chicago this upcoming Labor Day weekend. It may seem a long ways away and something you could put off on getting tickets for, but with a lineup like this, you’re going to want to buy tickets ASAP Rocky. Celebrating its 5th year anniversary, the lineup features the legendary Snoop Doggy Dog, Kid Cudi, Cashmere Cat, What So Not, and even the man himself JODY HIGHROLLER, to name a few. After witnessing it for myself last year, it only has me craving more and more. Think about it, but not for too long because this this thing will sell out, I promise. Nothing more refreshing than doing some late night crate digging, and just letting the bass bump to great finds like this remix by Mister Mack and Fortune of Kanye West’s “Touch The Sky.” If you’ve had a long weekend, and would’ve gladly taken the day off today, this one’s for you. Mister Mack and Fortune are part of the Flow Fi community, which holds a talented roster of producers, which I invite you all to check out. This is a must listen! Enjoy!
Albums, Deep House | ZHU – Nightday EP

Between 4/20, Coachella, and any other holiday weekend festivities, you might have missed the highly anticipated release of the mysterious producer, Zhu’s freshman EP. This EP is ultra-satisfying not only for its content, but also because it marks the end of our suspense in seeing what this Zhu guy is all about. However, as far as who this Zhu guy actually is, well, we’ll get there.
In case you haven’t been following the steady rise of this artist, let me catch you up to speed. Back in February, music bloggers across the country (including FNT!) received emails from an anonymous source with the attachment later to be identified as Zhu’s first single, “Moves Like Ms. Jackson.” Following that, another even more addicting, and this time original track, “Superfriends” took the internet by storm. But it wasn’t long before fans made use of their Internet skills and uncovered the artist as Los Angeles based Stephen Zhu of No Ego Records. What was even more remarkable then the fine detective work provided by Joel McRae via Do Androids Dance was the evidence that Zhu had planted the seed for this EP and all its branding quite some time ago. And still, leading up to the release and even today, there remains an air of intrigue as to who the man behind the smoke is.
As for the music, it without a doubt lives up to the hype. Zhu has really established his own distinct sound: dark, seductive, bass heavy and overall sexy. The tracks released prior to the EP, like “Faded” and “Paradise Awaits” are among some of the more stand out ones, while “Stay Close” and “The One” offer a more subdued, deep house // UK garage feel.
Now that we can finally enjoy this artist’s work as a whole, I’m dying to know what his next move is. No doubt it’s been carefully calculated so he’ll leaving us hanging by a thread until the time is right. Until then, stream “Nightday” in full via Zhu’s website here or cop it from iTunes and test it out by driving fast on empty freeways late at night with a Russian model in your passenger seat and your hand on her thigh. Or something devious like that.

The boys of the summer sound are back with their 25th installment of the Solé fixtape! It’s been awesome being on board with these guys since their first installment and watching this series grow into a diverse yet impressive group of artists. If you’re not familiar with Belgium native, Aeroplane, now is a great time to hop on board with his sound. Coming off a hot weekend at Coachella, Aeroplane is an artist to watch in 2014.
