Roger Sanchez needs little introduction as seasoned pro in the industry with almost as many radio shows as Armin and has rocked just about every festival worldwide. You won’t want to miss him take the decks on Saturday with his expansive discography to call upon. Unlike most opening DJs nowadays, resident DJ Sevag actually knows how to warm up a room, playing sexy grooves to get the crowd in the mood for the headliner, no matter who it is, and doesn’t just bang out Beatport top 40. Anjunabeats revelation ilan Bluestone has released his three track EP, after “Big Ben” was premiered fittingly by Above & Beyond at Alexandria Palace in London for ABGT 50. The title track “Big Ben” may garner the most attention and pass the “anthem test” for most, but do not sleep on the rest of the EP. “Alysium” and “Waves Of LA” have the vintage ilan Bluestone sound with soaring synth driven melodies, fluttering piano and thumping basslines. We have had to endure all of this time with only one ilan Bluestone tune at a time, so we are spoiled getting three all at once.

It might be a bit of a stretch to say we are seeing a second British invasion, but a new wave of British pop / soul singers is hitting the worldwide music scene with a vengeance, led by Sam Smith and John Newman and everyone is noticing. John Newman was first discovered by Rudimental and has burst onto the scene, notably with his single “Love Me Again”, which has seen countless remixes. In steps talented singer / producer Shaun Frank who creates a totally new and upbeat instrumental of his own designed for the clubs and covers the vocals in the same style as John Newman, but with Shaun’s own flavor. Deep House | Dinnerdate – Going On

Dinnerdate has been cranking out tunes lately. We are just seeing the fruits of his labor, but what is going on in his Munich studio is incredible with some outstanding, soothing deep house. He first got his acclaim for some highly touted remixes for José González and Editors, and now is applying his skills to originals. He was recently featured on Kitsuné’s New Faces compilation and has an EP coming very soon this spring. “Going On” is a free original to get you ready for that and shows the continues growth by the German producer with fitting vocal samples, groovy bass lines and soft and purposeful melodies. Vicious Recordings is turning 21 this year and celebrate this momentous occasion, they have compiled 21 classics and 21 new remixes of songs that represent the storied history of the label. In a genre that has only been around for about 35 years, it is all to often we see labels, clubs and other institutions fade into obscurity after a short run on top. To remain one of the great labels, riding the highs and lows of the industry and remaining a consistent force at discovering new talent and promoting great music throughout the years. Based in Australia, just a few of the guys the label has helped break include Avicii, Dirty South, Peking Duk, Angger Dimas and many more.
With the compilation coming out tomorrow on Beatport, we are proud to premiere the Dave Winnel remix of Sgt Slick “Everyday”. Those of you who are fans of Kaskade’s compilation albums (raises hand), will recognize the piano-heavy remix by Digital Lab from Dance.Love, but now hometown kid, Dave Winnel takes over the reigns for a remix fit for 2014. The stunning vocal is left intact as Dave Winnel adds a bouncy bass line underneath a bed of synths that are a mix of a throwback to when this tune was originally released and to the sounds of today. Everybody is aware of Madeon and his wonderful abilities as a producer. He doesn’t release tracks often but when he does they are always outstanding. In an effort to tide his fans over, he is releasing a song he made a few years ago for free. “Cut The Kid” upholds the high quality that we are use to seeing from the young Frenchman and has the same unique sound his productions always do.
