‘Numbered’ is the first taste of Calypso’s debut four-track EP, and if this is anything to go by, we are certainly in for a treat. The Tasmanian artist’s beautiful voice perfectly compliments the piano/guitar based melody to create a track that is melodic, uplifting, yet also upbeat. From the artist herself: “The story behind ‘Numbered’ is quite obvious through the lyrics in the song; it’s about the struggle between two people as their love for each other is coming to an end – the painful experience of wanting to keep somebody close, but knowing that you will eventually have to let go.” This story is beautifully told throughout the track, with the closing sax line being the cherry on top. In lieu of his Sunday headlining performance, Kygo decided to release a brand spankin’ new single just in time for the weekend. Offering a little slower tempo than we are used to hearing from the Norwegian, the song still embodies every other release that we have come to love from the tropical producer. At this point, it’s becoming near impossible for Kygo to release anything but good music. Enjoy!

By now there’s probably not a single person out there that isn’t familiar with Ariana Grande and Zedds “Break Free”. It was one of those songs that just blows up. Unfortunately you start hearing songs like that everywhere until…R.I.P played to death. While most of these departed tracks slowly fade to the back of the playlist, once in a while one is given a second chance. That is exactly what we are hearing happen here with Kap Slap’s revitalizing edit on the track. This New York City based producer did a lot more than just bringing it back to life though.
