Dubstep | Zomboy, Gramatik, and Fytch & Captain Crunch

People keep comparing Zomboy to Skrillex, which I can not argue against. Zomboy uses the ‘Skrillex Style Synths’ in his own creative way. Most of his tracks make me think of zombies not Skrillex (not because of his name, listen and you will understand). With that said, Zomboy might be one of the biggest small producers out in dubstep. Watch out, he is going to wreak the competition in the future.

Gramatik might be one of the best things to happen to the Pretty Light Music Label, besides Pretty Lights. Having only been signed a few months ago and already dropping a huge mixtape, the up and coming genius doesn’t disappoint Pretty Lights’ fans with tracks like this one.

This last track took me a little more effort then necessary to find. I heard a preview a while back and fell in love instantly. The vocals are beautiful, and the drop is what you would come to expect in the last track of my dubstep posts.

I’ve been staying away from pop music recently but I couldn’t help myself here, the video deserves some attention. As one of the most successful frat dancers in the country, second only to RealKingCurtis, I can really appreciate some of the moves this guy pulls off. With that said, I won’t be seeing this guy on any of the So You Think You Can Dance episodes that my mom “forces” me to watch, but he’s still impressive nonetheless. This is just a set rip and the quality isn’t very good but you can still tell how damn good this song is. Junior Sanchez lets loose this house smash with great female vocals, amazing synth work and a drop gives change of pace and an extra boost to the song.

John Dahlback consistently puts out great songs. You know that what he does is going to be good. This is a great remix that is maybe a little too housey for some people, but it is still a great remix of the song, with a little dutch and heavy electro in there. He drops 50 from the song so watch out for that and the build is great but the drop at 2 is sick.

DJ-Set, House, Videos | Alesso & Sebastian Ingrosso – Calling

This is the Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso colab that everyone has been waiting for. The name was just confirmed to be “Calling” a few hours ago by Sebastien Ingrosso via twitter. This is a video of the song from their iTunes festival performance, which I sadly missed. This song is just too damn good, showing off the skills of these guys and highlighting just how fast Alesso is becoming one of the world’s top DJs. If you missed the show (like me), lucky for you I have a set right here for you to listen to or watch it here. The first song, as confirmed (by Axwell himself), is a new Swedish House Mafia single with no name or release date yet, but it is massive.
UPDATE: Soundcloud took down the set, so I uploaded it again though it only seems to be working as a download for the time being and I put up the tracklist, which you can view after the jump.

The girl in the pink is so stupid – I’m pretty sure Scarlet was the one filming her clumsy daughter. Watch this at least 3 times in a row.
And in case some people don’t appreciate the fact that I like to make you laugh every once in a while, as insurance for this post, I’ve thrown in a banger at the bottom. I don’t want to hear any “stick to music” comments (and yes I realize this video has millions of views, I don’t care).

Here’s proof that dubstep has been around a lot longer than most of us think. The recent heavy “brostep” fad came in just as quick as its going to die but solid projects will always exist. After being too proud to wear a rash guard today on my legendary trip with Giraffe surf, I’ve been forced to watch surf videos all day. This 2009 release which I found on some of the visuals I drooled over absolutely kills it with the catchy vocals and light whomps (perhaps it falls just short of a dubstep track). In case you haven’t already figured it out I’m a huge fan of soft-care dubstep and pretty much loathe the super heavy (answer to metal) material – I let emo Jewcebox handle that. If you’re looking for some tracks that wont make your ears bleed tune in below. Note: I dig the Demon track too much to not have it as the featured song, the 2009 release is just below it.
