Progressive House | Vicetone ft. Chloe Angelides – White Lies

Vicetone ft. Chloe Angelides - White Lies

Vicetone have attached their energetic progressive sound to female vocals, like those of Nervo’s in remixes, but not yet in an original. With their return to their label, Protocol Recordings, they tab LA based singer Chloe Angelides to lay down some angelic vocals over their hard hitting, yet melodic instrumental. It has been almost 2 years since they released their first tune and it is wild to think how far they have come. To try and predict what is to come in the next two would be a fools errand.

Progressive House | Syndec – Riptide

Syndec - Riptide

I am well aware that vocals on a progressive house track are straight ballin and what most people prefer but once in a while it’s nice to hear one without. When there’s no vocals it allows you to truly listen to the music instead of being focused on the singer’s voice. Syndec is an eighteen year old Swedish producer and he managed to do with “Riptide” what most progressive house producers cannot when it comes to making a non vocal track, keep it interesting. The song is driven by an excellent light melody and is structured in a way that it does not get boring.

Nightcall ft. Dreamhour - Dead V (Vocal Version)

A lot of the time there are songs that you can put on and then go prep a stew or caress the face of a child and you will still be able to appreciate it. That is not the case with this song. This song deserves your full attention. Nightcall is a Swedish producer of cinematic electronic music and recently released a vocal version of his awesome “Dead V”. The original was musically outstanding and the vocals just push it over the top.

DO SOMETHING

Chill, Pop | MisterWives – Money On My Mind

Posted by on March 23, 2014

A few days back a new cover titled, “Money On My Mind”, graced my inbox. Now, going in to this I was hesitant as I am with any cover, especially since Sam Smith had done such an amazing job on the original. However, to my pleasant surprise, the MisterWives did not disappoint.

I’m a little late to the party on this song, so hopefully this will reach all of the ears that missed it the first time around! The harmonious vocals perfectly complement the simple piano and drums to create a sound that will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

Enjoy this freebie cover and be ready for more original content coming soon.

It’s an easy Saturday night, I’m checking out my boy K-Woody‘s latest single “No More” and SoundCloud continuously streams me to “Wherever You Are” and I’m immediately captured by Shannon Livewell’s vocals and K-Woody’s laidback ‘talk to’em’ flow. Yes, I’ve been sleeping on this project. Entirely tracked and mixed in Nashville, TN “Phases” is some real shit, no other way to put it, and that’s why it’s good. With productions by Nate Fox, Ghost Notes, Big K.R.I.T., and more, this is a solid album which deserves your attention. I’m going to let you feel this one. This is a must listen. Peace!

Preview, Progressive House | Pierce Fulton – Runaway EP (Preview)

Pierce Fulton - Runaway EP

It’s been a little while since we last heard from Pierce Fulton, but he is back in 2014 with a vengeance, ready to commence his release schedule with a bang. Just In time for WMC, he previews his first originals since “Where We Were” last August. “Old Man & The Sea” was first premiered at his debut headlining Webster Hall show in October and has since been number one priority for his fans. He packages that with another equally melodic tune “Runaway” that features some rare male vocals, but is something that works on his tunes, as seen with his “Don’t Be Afraid” remix. The EP is coming March 31st, so get ready.

Chill, Trap | NoVista – Lights (Ft. Ana Criado)

Posted by on March 21, 2014

If you haven’t heard of 18 year old Canadian producer NoVista yet – listen up! This remix is incredibly well made. His sound reminds me of Hucci, one of my personal favorites. This track features trap beats and beautiful vocals. The notes creating the airy melody are bouncy and fun. I was impressed with this up and coming producer and I think you will be too.
