A bit different than what we are used to hearing from the Bixel Boys, the SO Cal duo have been tabbed by Armada Music to remix Thomas Newson’s recent single “Don’t Hold Us” with the angelic vocals of Angelika Vee. Preview the full tune below as we see their ability to expand beyond their comfort zones and try something new. The tune hits stores digitally on May 19th, so be sure to grab it then. This “Reflections” remix graced my inbox a few days back and after the first listen I knew it needed to be shared. However, as it usually does, life got ahead of me and my post slipped from one day to the next to the next. Then, tonight as I perused Hype Machine, staring me right in the face -as any not completed assignment does- was the Misterwive’s name along with the Gryffin remix.
The bouncy deep house sound that Gryffin implores has been a recent trend amongst producers, and combined with the Misterwives angelic vocals the song was a guaranteed success.

Elephante has been on a roll over the past few months with the play total of almost every song he releases going well over 100k within a few weeks. His rise has been quite similar to that of my deep, deep bros, The Chainsmokers, which says a lot. After his exceptionally well done “Next To You” remix, a song that was a favorite of mine for a week or so before I kind of stopped listening to it because that’s just how little staying power most (good) progressive house tracks have these days, he has reworked an old original he made titled “Trillion” around the superb vocals of Lincoln Jesser and his track “Something Right”. It, like all his stuff these days, is great.

Electro, Trap | Lorde – Tennis Court (Flume Remix)

It seems so right that Flume would remix Lorde. Something about her voice and his beats just makes sweet sweet love to my ears. The build up, the drop, the vocals, just everything about this song is fire. I don’t think I need to say more except keep hitting repeat.

SevnthSundays are always excellent! The release this week is a little different though, since it’s lacking the normal heavy R&B influence. SevnthWonder’s remix of “Mirage” by Mitch Murder is fresh and light. SevnthWonder stated that the influences for this remix were Wave Racer and Cashmere Cat. Featuring heavily altered vocals and an airy melody, this track will take your mind away. As a follow up to his “#Selfie” remix, Elephante has remixed the indie song “Next To You” by Oh Be Clever and it is just might be his best work yet. He keeps the energy high in this one with kicks, snares, and claps throughout almost the whole track as well as a preview of the drop only a short 15 seconds in. The vocals and main melody are of course both excellent as well.

Electronic | Disclosure – White Noise (cln remix)

We’re approaching the one-year anniversary since the unforgettable release of Settle and yet, Disclosure remixes are still popping up at a steady rate. What this can only mean though is that for a remix to get any attention at all at this point has to really stand out. I think it’s safe to say Australian up and comer cln. hit the mark with this remix of “White Noise.” He brought this track around a full 180, turning it into a more passionate electronic ballad featuring strings and some very distant sort of tropical beats, not to mention somehow managing to transform Aluna Francis’s vocals into something more Amy Winehouse-esque, which works perfectly for this rework.
A quick glance at cln.’s Soundcloud is enough reason to expect big things out of this producer – his feed includes a delicate Drake remix (think Ryan Hemsworth) and a brand new Kilter remix that’s already heating up. Plan to spend your weekend with cln. on repeat.
