Mac gives us some fitting visuals for the 4th of July. America, which was one of my favorites off Macadelic, features Mac and two of Hip-Hop’s notable up and comers in Casey Veggies and Joey Bada$$. Everything about this song is on point: the verses, the chopped chorus, the visuals. Props to Mac and the illroots team on the video.

In commemoration of Go Skate Day, D.Tucker releases a jam for everyone’s shredding pleasure. After first watching the video with the volume on, I turned the volume off and just appreciated the sheer awesomeness of D.Tucker’s skating. The song fits the mood of the song perfectly, and is only strengthened by the crisp visuals. D. Tucker had this to say about the release: “Not all skater-cops are bad ones, but the majority are assholes and this my message to them. This song is for skaters around the world that feel proud being a skater, all we want to do is have a good time.” So in addition to a great song, with great visuals, D. Tucker is making a point. This video makes me want to go out and skate, even though I would probably fall flat on my face.

Comprised of producer-vocalist Brian Vincent and singer Randa Leigh, Portalandia based Shadows On Stars has been making serious waves in the blogosphere as of late with their recent “Out Of My Head” video. Shot on location at Death & CO NYC, “Out Of My Head’s” visuals are nothing short of stunning, transporting the listener into an alternative indie-grunge-soul universe full of expensive chandeliers and top shelf liquor. Only one question remains… is it local?

Detroit’s very own Danny Brown, drops off the visuals his great single, Grown Up. Everything about this video is perfect. The little kid is not only a spitting image of Danny, the clothes and tooth accident make it that much better. Danny has been one of my favorite underground rappers for a minute, so if you have yet to get up to date with his stuff, do so! Also shouts to fellow Fools Gold member, Party Supplies, who produced the video.

Chicago native, Chance the Rapper, drops off visuals to one of the standout tracks on his latest mixtape, 10day. Directed by Elijah Alvardo, the video does a great job giving us that nostalgic feeling. For all you Chicago people, Chance will be playing at Lincoln Hall on June 8th, more details to come. Weeks after this single surfaced, A$AP already has the visuals ready for this Hit-Boy produced track. Shot in Paris, the video shows Rocky enjoying his lavish lifestyle with his Margiela shoes and the expensive champagne bottles. My favorite is A$AP Yams playing the hype man in the video.
