Bass, Dubstep | Unlimited Gravity – Source’s Orchestra
Posted by BP on August 7, 2013
After hearing this new Unlimited Gravity single this afternoon I couldn’t help but share it with you. It was hard to categorize this song, so we’ll just call it bass music. The strings are absolutely mesmerizing and flow perfectly over the wobbling bass lines. Each drop takes a unique turn. This is one of those songs I could see being perfect for a long drive, especially because of it’s length. Source’s Orchestra is a single off of Unlimited Gravity’s album called “Unlimited” that will be released on August 27th to 1320 Records, and I can’t wait to hear it!

Glitch | Haywyre – Synergy [ASPW #8]
Posted by BP on July 29, 2013
Haywyre’s single “Synergy” was released today to Monstercat and I was given the pleasure of posting it for all of your ears. This glitch track, the eighth installment of Haywyre’s “A Song Per Week” project, is precisely crafted and an intriguing listen. Starting off with some of Haywyre’s impressive piano skills, it then takes a sudden turn into exciting glitch hop. Both the first minute of calming piano and remaining three minutes of glitchy bass are fantastic.

Indie, Interviews, Progressive House | ASTR – Operate (The Chainsmokers Remix) + Exclusive Interview
Posted by Mel on June 20, 2013
It has been roughly four months since my hand slightly grazed my sister’s friend’s thigh. Coincidentally, it has also been about four months since I first heard of The Chainsmokers. Since then, my hand has been many places but none as sweet as that. I have also watched The Chainsmokers grow from two decent looking guys to two excellent looking guys who make awesome music. Their first remix that got my attention was of Jonsi’s “Around Us”. That track… it made me feel for the first time. Sara B, the girl who had a crush on me in eleventh grade, I get you now. The Chainsmokers taught me how to love. Since then I’ve learned to take it, roll it up into a ball, toss it in the air and if there’s not a steady current of wind, I smash that into oblivion.
Picture yourself walking through the city late one night when you see a beautiful girl sitting in a coffee shop eating a plum. She is facing outward toward the street and the store’s walls are glass so you two can see each other. You want to go talk to her but you can’t find the door to get in. Not being able to figure out where the entrance is, you go up to the glass and relentlessly stare at her. Upon closer inspection you realize that she is in fact eating an oddly shaped apple not a plum. “Why are you eating an apple?” you mouth to her. You can hear her say through the glass while turning the apple “no no, this is a plum”. After seeing the flesh of the fruit it is indeed a plum. You then turn around to go home and find $20 on the ground.
The combination of slight disappointment, confusion, and joy that night brings is what I think of their latest remix.
We also had a chance to talk to them about life’s most important questions, such as “If you were to suddenly wake up in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason and upon looking to the nearest wall saw a hole that has never been there before the size of the middle, cardboard part of a roll of toilet paper, would you stick stuff in it?”. Click past the break if you want to laugh, cry, and be inspired.
RnB | The Weeknd – Wicked Games (Until The Ribbon Breaks Reimagination)
Posted by W8 on June 3, 2013
Always a pleasure finding good shit. That is, Pete Lawrie aka Until The Ribbon Breaks with an already impressive co-sign from the one and only ”I put oooon” – Jay-Z. ”I was born with my back to the stars. Turn me over. I would like to see.” says Pete. Metaphorically similar to how I ponder the good things to come from his future catalogue, that thought as my ethereal head nods to the rewinded visuals and smooth direction this particular track takes.

Progressive House | Sander van Doorn, Dubvision & Mako – Into the Light
Posted by Mel on April 29, 2013
When you combine Sander Van Doorn with talented up and comers Mako and one of the leaders in the new era of progressive house, Dubvision, you are sure to have a hit on your hands. “Into The Light” utilizes the soothing vocals of Mariana Bell in conjunction with slow key play and dark chords, setting the atmosphere before the frantic build and intense drop. This track truly showcases each of the collaborators individual style, in turn creating something of which we would not have seen from any of them alone.
