Trance | Mark Burton vs. Sunlounger & Zara Taylor – Try Understatement To Be Love (Armin van Buuren Mashup)
Posted by Spice on November 19, 2012
Armin van Buuren’s uplifting mashup of “Try To Be Love” and “Understatement” has been everywhere lately — Universal Religion Chapter 6; live sets; his guest mix on ABGT 002 — but now the mastered, full length studio version is here and it’s just as massive as you’d expect. Mark Burton’s rippling, dynamic instrumental is a perfect complement to Zara Taylor’s warm vocals and the lyrics catapult this to rave anthem level. This is feel good party music at its best.

Preview, Trance | Above & Beyond – Alchemy (Above & Beyond Club Mix and Myon & Shane 54 Redemption Mix)
Posted by Spice on November 19, 2012
Devotees of Above & Beyond, rejoice — the long-awaited club mix for “Alchemy” has finally dropped. “Alchemy” is quite possibly my favorite track on Group Therapy so do yourself a favor and listen to the first few minutes if you’re not familiar with this insanely luminous and beautiful song. The club mix is the version that the trio has used in their live sets for the past several months, so if you’ve been fortunate enough to catch them on tour you will almost certainly recognize it. As in their past club mixes, they’ve layered in a harder bassline and big, shimmering synths but have left the emotional core of the song intact (thank goodness). Included in this package is an extended album cut, so if you’re like me and still can’t get enough of Zoe Johnston’s vocals in the chorus you’ll probably want to add that to your Beatport cart as well.
Also keep an eye out for Myon & Shane 54’s upcoming Redemption Mix (above), which Above & Beyond featured last Friday on ABGT 002 and which is set to drop on December 3. This remix has a dark, trancey vibe that’s a bit more intense than the club mix.
Trance | Lights Above – The Route
Posted by Mach on November 3, 2012
What can I tell you about Lights Above…. absolutely nothing besides this is an amazing Trance track. All I know about who ever this is that they have about 13k follows on a Soundcloud account with only this track. No name, no Facebook, no Twitter, and Miami, Florida. I have a feeling I will find out soon enough after this post. With all that said, this is old school Trance styling, a simple yet elegant style and it is incredible. Click play, and turn your head to the Lights Above.
UPDATE: Well Lights Above removed this track, he did happen to send me a message thanking me for the post. He/she is very mysterious and already has a new track uploaded. Definitely someone worth following.

Greetings, Trance Family. I trust this post finds you well. While this particular family member is still reeling from a positively massive (to borrow Armin’s favorite word) few days — Jochen Miller and Armin van Buuren on Thursday; Above & Beyond on Saturday — it is now time to move past the weekend and pay homage to a sampling of the glorious releases that have dropped in the past week. And glorious they truly are.
First up is the remix package for the stunning “I’ll Listen,” a song that may seem languid and understated at first but which proves wickedly catchy upon subsequent listens. Never doubt the diabolical tendencies of Armin. Check out John O’Callaghan’s “dark” mix above and then join me in trance heaven after the jump.
Dubstep, Trance | [Preview]Velvetine – The Great Divide (Seven Lions Remix) + Isis VIP & Paul Van Dyk Remix Previews
Posted by Sev on September 19, 2012
As much as I tried to hold on to this preview until the official release, it wasn’t going to happen. Seven Lions is an artist who in my opinion is doing something nobody else can match, or can do at his level. He is a pioneer of Trance influenced Dubstep and has nearly mastered it to a perfection. It isn’t just that his music is amazing and unique in all aspects, but the emotion it brings to all listeners and I know I don’t just speak for myself when I say that. In the past week, three outstanding previews to some of his upcoming material surfaced and it only felt right to share them with you guys. The first one being this supernatural remix of Velvetine’s The Great Divide. Goosebumps only begin to clarify the feeling I got when I first stumbled upon this track. I can say with full confidence that this release is going to be my favorite of the year.
Next up we change pace a little to a new remix Paul van Dyk’s I Don’t Deserve You that is more Trance than his usual material. Although you can still get a taste of the heavy bass filled synths from his Dubstep styled tracks sprinkled throughout this remix. There isn’t a noticeable amount to stray it away from the more Trance filled aspect.
For our last preview we give a big thanks to MrSuicideSheep for getting everyone this exclusive first look at the Isis VIP. Given that the original was epic enough just means this track has too be that much better. We are still waiting on whether or not this is going to get a release, so cross your fingers and hope he feels generous enough to share this masterpiece.
Dubstep, Progressive House, Trance, Videos | EDM Video Round-Up – August 2012
Posted by Spice on August 24, 2012
It has recently come to my attention that a number of important videos have dropped this month and we’ve done virtually nothing to acknowledge them. Well, it ends tonight. First up we’ve got one of the coolest and most innovative things I think I’ve ever seen — the video for Mat Zo’s “The Sky” — which gives you an insane, beautiful, jaw-dropping, stomach-clenching, how-the-hell-did-they-even-get-this-footage look into BASE jumping. This video is mind blowing from start to finish, and the fact that all of the gorgeously filmed madness is set to Mat Zo’s equally gorgeous showstopper of a track makes the entire situation that much better. If you do one thing on Fresh New Tracks tonight, watch this video. It’s absolutely incredible and you won’t regret it.
Moving on: see what Madeon, Zedd, Skrillex, and the rest of the gang have been up to after the jump… READ ON >>
