I haven’t posted any dubstep in a while so I figured I better write this track up. “So Wrong” by Illenium is melodic dubstep done right. Chill and bass filled, this original is a great addition to your chill playlist. The melody will stay in your head long after you click play. Obeson has put out a new original track for our ears yesterday called “Control Me” with vocals from the talented Sakima. This track is ambient and smooth. It’s one of those tunes that can really carry your mind away. The progression of this track is unique and the sax that pops up towards the middle of the song is a nice surprise as well. I’m hard on Oliver Heldens. It’s because I like him. I hold him to a higher standard than most. This track, man. This track is a real serious tune. Borrowing largely from the original, Oliver and Gregor Salto breathe new life into a classic. I think I can safely posit that the summer was Oliver Heldens. “Can’t Stop Playing” out August 29th on Spinnin’ Records. Future house is the new religion.

Here’s something chill for your Thursday evening. The Runaway “Redux” of Jeremih’s “Late Nights” is smooth and emotional. I could hear the passion in the first minute. This remix is relaxing, with ambient electronic synths underneath the vocals and R&B style beats. Overall this track is very sexy, and a good one to add to any chill collection. Electro | Arcade Fire – Afterlife (Flume Remix)

So if you read my Lolla post, you’d understand that Flume was easily my favorite show at Lolla and probably one of my favorite artists out right now. So to my surprise 10 minutes ago I saw he released a brand new song, with another Dshaq favorite Arcade Fire. This track is crazy, it takes all of your previous knowledge of Flume and throws it out the window. Another slow build up, meets a funky deep house drum kit and he just rides that out for the whole track, tweaking the vocals, which all come together nicely. Even though its 10 minutes, it’s worthwhile. Enjoy.

Michael Calfan man I have missed you. “Resurrection” is still an absolute jam and though he has had some bomb remixes since then, the originals have not been able to live up to the standard set by the Axwell approved tune. But with this groovy, throwback, piano house track he may have just topped them all. We will find out when it is released September 12th
