Torontonian Coleman Hell’s ‘Thumbalina’ is quite the masterpiece engulfing one in a wind up of inspirational instrumentation and eclectic lyricism. This track is absolutely stunning. I wouldn’t go as far as to call this tropical house, but it carries elements of the genre and matches it with a seductive melody,nu-disco funk, and addictive vocals. Matvey Emerson and Lina make a lovely couple on this track and I honestly hope to see more from the two on future projects.

One of the most venerated and respected producers in the dance music scene is Maurizio Colella, aka EDX. The house music specialist has been producing dance music since 1994, and year after year, the gifted musician has delivered fantastic releases. Colella began as a remix DJ, and after gaining inspiration from dance music legends like Laurent Garnier, he was able to turn his passion for electronic music into a reality.
Through the years, the dance music veteran has stayed relevant, even as he has experimented with his sound in different sub-genres of dance music like tech-house, due to his dedication to his craft. Through 20 years of production, EDX has amassed an impressive discography. In 2012, he released his debut artist album, On the Edge, after spending years working on it. In recent years, EDX has explored new sonic frontiers with his music, as he experimented with a clubbier house style that still laid its roots in his progressive background. Tracks like “Cool You Off” and his Collateral Effects EP showcased EDX’s new sound, and these releases were resounding successes. His latest remix of Sons of Maria and Nora en Pure’s track, “Uruguay,” has dominated the Beatport Deep House chart, as it currently sits at #2.

The string plucks are organized eloquently as Larrykoek masterfully introduces and evaporates pitches, bass lines, and melodic sounds. The track will take you back to summer, or at this rate, warm you up for the season as it’s right around the corner. Lighten up your Thursday with ‘Premiere Fois’.

Danielle seems to be an up-and-coming New York City-based artist with one track to her name, a remix of Freedom Fry’s hit, “Shaky Ground,” that is worth writing home about. Danielle’s remix is the perfect combination of indie and dance with just a touch of summer to give the track a beautiful, beach-y vibe. She leaves Freedom Fry’s vocals untouched as she works her magic on the rest of the track, infusing infectiously catchy guitar riffs with lively percussive work and sparkling synth patterns to deliver the perfect remix as we make our way through the last bit of the winter season.

Trap | Pyramid Scheme feat. Trinidad James – Cut It Up

How she’s a virgin on the week days as opposed to the weekends escapes me, but I digress. Former strippers and pizza enthusiasts Pyramid Scheme (Adam LaRossa and Sterling Pike) drop their incredibly infectious trap-hybrid “Cut It Up” single. How this isn’t on a major label is beyond me. A smart major would sign this track immediately, as I predict “Cut It Up” could become a genre-bending radio friendly crossover that even the whitest of girls could get down to on a Saturday night.
