Electro, Trap | Hudson Mohawke – Chimes (Official)

Fresh off of a Pitchfork performance, Hudson Mohawke drops off a brand new single of his upcoming EP, which will be out on September 30th. As usual, HudMo does not disappoint with the release featuring the classic sound he has built with Lunice and TNGHT. A nice melodic build up clashes very well against the hard hitting bass and kicks. Festival banger, no doubt about it. Expect to be hearing this one a lot. Enjoy.

Throwbacks | Valentines Slowjams Chapter VII

I’m gonna go ahead and say this mixtape is either exactly what you’d expect or quite the opposite coming from Hudson Mohawke (probably the former if you’re a regular of this mixtape series), but I can say with certainty it is exactly what you need on this special day. Take a trip back in time and find out what love sounded like when your parents were gettin’ their groove thaang on, complete with all the sexy saxophone and backup singers you could ever ask for. Light the candles, sprinkle some rose petals, run the bath water and let the fun begin…

Featured, Review | THESE ARE THE BEST THINGS I HEARD IN 2013 | SINCERELY, MIMADA

YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS.

All the music that I listened to throughout the last 12 months enough to make me sick but somehow didn’t. The fields of music brought a bountiful yield in 2013 which allowed listeners like me to tune into more genres and artists than I could ever imagine. In order to cover all my necessary bases, I’ve drafted quite a comprehensive list (or two) missing prety much only anything Jennifer Lawrence related although if all the things she said this year were songs then they would 100% have made it on my list as well.

So, let the countdown, BEGIN!

Electro, Mix, Trap | Hard Summer Future Stars Mini-Mix #5 feat. Keys N Krates

Posted by on May 30, 2013

Okay woah, I’m just gonna cut to the chase here and say this mix is BANGIN – Keys N Krates is proving themselves as a serious predator in the music game right now. This has got pretty much every track that you need to play at your parties if you ever want anyone to have any sort of fun right here, perfectly transitioning one into the next. Granted, my favorite parts are Keys N Krates original songs, especially I Just Can’t Deny (7:25). And you know, I can’t deny that this will probably be the only thing I listen to for the rest of the weekend.

As you can see, this is the 5th installment of HARD’s Future Stars Mini-Mix Series, which has so far featured Paper Diamond, Jerome LOL & Samo Sound Boy, Green Lantern and Justin Jay. You can check out those sets and many more here (can’t promise they’ll be as good as this one though…!)

Videos | H?SHTAG$ – Don’t Call It #Beats – Episode 4

Posted by on February 27, 2013

Let’s have a moment of clarity. We entertain more music in a day than our parents heard in a lifetime. Yesterday’s favorites are now 35 pages back and to be forever enveloped in what’s newer. Regardless of quality there’s no question that internet-based music is in excess quantity. It’s safe to say we are some ADHD music lovers, and so yea… it’s about time for H?SHTAG$. Red Bull Music Academy’s web series that chronicles many names in the game who mysteriously appear to have found more room outside the box. This fourth installment features Flying Lotus, Shlohmo, XXYYXX, and more. Check all the earlier genre-splicing episodes after the jump.

Hip-Hop, Trap | Captain Murphy – Shake Weight (TNGHT Version)

Posted by on August 14, 2012

If you are a fan of the Trap game and haven’t heard of TNGHT yet, then you need to get to searching. Consisted of Hudson Mohawke and Lunice this dynamic Trap duo has been taking the scene by storm. After a good response from their first EP, lyricists are all over their hot beats. Captain Murphy is the latest to give TNGHT’s track Bugg’n a shot. Right off the start he gives off a Tyler The Creator vibe with his graphic, vulgar lyrics. It seems as though this Odd Future’s style has caught many peoples attention and become a wanted commodity whether you like it or not. You can grab this track as a free download HERE.
