Swedish House Mafia announced a little while back that they wanted to do a 5th New York show to support the ongoing efforts for Hurricane Relief. We now have the final information that the show will be held on Thursday February 28th, at Hammerstein Ballroom. 100% of the proceeds of the proceeds will be donated to the New Jersey Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund and the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City. It is fitting that the event will be held at a ballroom since there is a strict dresscode of black tie and ball gowns so be ready to dance in your finest clothing. The event is 21+. Tickets will be auctioned off starting at the price of $100 on ticketmaster this Friday the 14th at 10am EST going up until the 16th at 10pm EST. Check their website here for more info and get ready for a one of a kind Swedish House Mafia show.
Albums, Progressive House | Swedish House Mafia – Until Now
Posted by Middy on October 22, 2012
As Swedish House Mafia gears up for their onelasttour, they have released what is supposed to be the soundtrack to this tour. After the painstakingly long revealing of this tracklist and series of announcements for announcements of events, the follow up to their previous mix compilation “Until One” is now out. The mix starts off slow or with a bang depending on your outlook with massive hits of 2012 like “Greyhound, “Calling” and “In My Mind”. It is almost as if they were themselves getting warmed up with the mixing and needed a few tracks to get into it before the heavy lifting started. Once it gets to the “Miami To Ibiza” and “Walking Alone” bootleg that made such a big splash after Madison Square Garden last year, the compilation is ramped up another notch with bootlegs like the Tommy Trash remix of Ladidadi with “Sing2Me” and “Alright” and the release of Third Party & Steve Angello’s “Lights” that sees its official release on Friday. “Raise You Head” is combined with the still powerful “Epic” (that song still drives crowds crazy) and my favorite bootleg of the bunch comes with a bit of irony since it includes Hardwell’s “Three Triangles” and expertly layers the melody of “Trio” overtop with the vocals of “Teenage Crime” to top it off. The album continues with the first official release of their remix of “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”, though we are still waiting on the full official version, before finishing off with “Save The World” with the Arty remix of “Punk”.
Usually I am not one for mix compilations or extensive bootleg CDs, but this CD combines both of these in a flawless manner that brings out the best of both worlds. “Until Now” has the same seamless feeling that you get with Kaskade’s mix compilations, where it is hard to stop the mix and it is impossible to jump in at one point because of how intertwined the songs. The mixing is flawless and track selection overall is pretty good. My one concern is that will the guys bring something new to the table for their tour with some new singles and bootlegs, different edits or at the very least switch up the order of the tracks. If their set list reads essentially like this, then many people may go home disappointed from their shows feeling as if they had already heard it. “Until Now” comes in either standard or deluxe and deluxe is the only way to go.
Progressive House | Swedish House Mafia – Don’t You Worry Child (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on October 16, 2012
The first remix to be previewed comes from the fast rising Brits Tom Star & Kryder who provide a similar style to their “Can’t Stop Me Now” remix with its dominating, unique, funky percussive bass lines. Italian duo, Promise Land have always been on the fringe of the dance music scene with semi-successful releases, but have never been able to catch a big break or maintain momentum from a pretty big track. This remix may just be that break as it flips the emotive melody into a tough, grungy drop that gives the track a new dimension. Joris Voorn is a superb producer, but this remix assignment did not fit his body of work and really is rather poor.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Huey Mack – Don’t You Worry Child (Swedish House Mafia Remix)

Huey Mack switches it up a bit and takes one of his first shots at singing on this remix of Swedish House Mafia’s “Don’t Worry Child”. I’d say this is definitely one of Huey’s deeper songs he’s released. It’s all about versatility and he’s proving he’s got it.
Events | Swedish House Mafia Announce One Last Tour Dates
Posted by Middy on September 24, 2012
After revealing the tracklist for their tour, that included a smattering of various bootlegs and a few new songs, Swedish House Mafia have revealed the tour dates for their highly anticipated farewell tour. For the past week we had various “dotspots” around the world that led to real locations and not, showing the marketing machine that has made Swedish House Mafia so popular despite only releasing 6 songs. This world tour starts them in Dubai and India coming up in November, then moves across a comprehensive European tour, hitting cities like Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Prague and of course their three shows back in Stockholm. The world tour continues and makes its stop in US, heading to San Francisco, Chicago, and a triumphant return to New York for two more dates in the beginning of March — rounding it out in LA. There is still the final date to be announced and two more countries, so don’t get too upset Miami and Australia. Tickets go on sale this Friday 12pm your local time, so be ready at your computers to buy tickets.
Albums, Progressive House | Swedish House Mafia Reveal Until Now Tracklist
Posted by Middy on September 17, 2012
After teasing us with announcement of the soundtrack to their One Last Tour last week during their “Don’t You Worry Child” video, today after a painstaking process of revealing the songs one by one in rather disappointing fashion, we have the tracklist for their upcoming album Until Now. Until Now follows in the footsteps of Until One, their previous compilation album, though it adds some complexity to it with a whole host of bootlegs that have not been released before. Coming off of their little twitter scuffle with Hardwell over bootlegs, I hope they asked for permission to get all of these released.
Everyone wanted an official album from Swedish House Mafia and it appears that wish was never going to happen, so this will just have to suffice. It reads off like a recent Swedish House Mafia set list, which can be blessing or a curse depending on whether or not you get a chance to see them one last time. There are a few unreleased tracks on here including Steve Angello’s collab with Third Party “Lights”, Tommy Trash & Sebastian Ingrosso’s “Reload”, set to release friday and even just when we thought it would never come their remix of “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” gets its official release. In summary no real new songs from SHM on here unless you consider “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall”‘s official release new, or the official release of the Extended mix of “Don’t You Worry Child” new (we know you all have it already). You can pre-order the album September 25th and it will be released in the US October 22nd. I hope they have more exciting news with their tour dates, cough LA. UPDATE: Tour Dates will be announced September 24th. More info at onelasttour.com. Tracklist after the jump.
