One day away from Christmas, and still 7 more days to go before the new year, so unless a banging track comes out within that time frame, these tracks stand. Obviously a lot of great music came out this year, and 10 records is too little to reflect the quality of sound that was released.
Beginning my contribution this year at FNT, I have found many tunes by known and unknown artists/producers that have captured my ears, and I’d like to dedicate this list to them. Although their name might not show up here, know that by being featured on a post alone, you’re on my ever expanding list. Music is infinity, and everyday hundreds to thousands of tracks are released that you will most likely never hear, but don’t limit yourself, keep an open mind, and be honest with your ears and your feelings! Again with the Ella, but anyone with a old soul will love this track. Perfect blend of classic and modern to carry you through your finals and into winter break.

Canadian producer Kaytranada presents his edition of Disclosure’s “January,” which will be on the Grammy nominated producers from the UK’s remix album available December 17th. If you’ve never heard of Kaytranada, now would be about time, he’s been blowing up. I had the chance to see him live at the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival, and he had the whole place going nuts. If you like feel good music, with a hint of soul and deep house, this one’s for you. Get funky to it, and get familiar with K by checking out his SoundCloud. This is a must listen!

Last month I featured a remix by SG Lewis of UK artist Patrice and I made sure to let him know to keep in touch. He hit me up with this original track, and I’m not going to lie, at first it took me a few plays to get into it, but after the 4th or 5th play it grew on me. From the 80’s pop influenced production to Patrice’s unique vocals, this track makes for a chill pop record filled with passion and soul. This is a must listen, happy Monday!

No clue who this Bo Saris guy is, where he came from, and how come he’s not bigger than he should be, but this track “Little Bit More” is refreshing and has potential to be a huge radio hit. If you’re fan of Bruno Mars, and that Mo-Town sound that’s been making a come back, this track is for you. Who knew a white boy had so much soul? This is a must listen!

I can’t really say that I’ve ever heard anything like this before, so its definitely worth the share. Reminding me of Thriftworks, it gives for a cinematic, acid funk, soul motion sort of music. With so many different sounds to listen to, this track is far from boring. Catch the rest from B.R.E.E.D on the album Binate.

Get ready to start your Monday off with some funk cause Solidisco just brought back to life the soul of Aurra, a soul group from the 80’s, by remixing their record “Make Up Your Mind.” The DJ duo from Buffalo’s formula is grab vocals from the 80’s and modernize them to fit today’s dance floor, and it’s working. “Make Up Your Mind” is the second track off their upcoming EP, also check out their First Choice “Love Thang” remix.
