Dubstep, Electro, Trance | Seven Lions with Myon & Shane 54 Ft. Tove Lo – Strangers
Posted by J-Tiffy on August 25, 2013
Seven Lions fans, rejoice! My eyes light up whenever I see Seven Lions’ name, and if you’re like me, you’ll be itching to dig into this tune if you haven’t already. He tackles this project with vocalist Tove Lo and house/trance production duo Myon and Shane 54. The song is part of the original motion picture soundtrack for Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. It is an immensely ambitious track, even for a revolutionary artist like Seven Lions. Not only does it combine his signature cocktail of trance and dubstep, but we can hear a lot of house elements in the mix and, more interestingly, a heavy reliance on a gnarly minimal electro drop.
Events, Review | 5 Things I Learned and Saw At Electric Adventure
Posted by Middy on August 22, 2013
In a little Throwback Thursday edition of event reviews, we have Electric Adventure, the 2-day festival that took place at Six Flags, in New Jersey over the 3rd and 4th of August. It combined a bass and trap heavy lineup, with some of the premier roller coasters on the eastern seaboard, giving you an experience where your adrenaline was always pumping, unless you were waiting in line for rides. The lineup was well rounded with guys like Dillon Francis, Seven Lions, GTA, 12th Planet and Zeds Dead all performing over the 2 days. Click past the jump for a few photos and some things I learned and saw at the festival.
Events | Electric Adventure Announces Full Lineup, Tickets Still on Sale

Electric Adventure painfully announced the lineup one name at a time, culminating in Seven Lions being the final artist added to a bass heavy roster fit for an American festival. The recently expanded, two-day festival being held at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey, boasts names like Dillon Francis, GTA, Seven Lions, Doctor P, Figure, Zeds Dead and a live show from Destroid. You can see the full lineup on the poster above. One of the finer things about the lineup is that it has scheduled breaks in between for you to go enjoy the rides with DJs like DJ Bl3nd taking over the decks. With all of this heavy bass music coming to Six Flags, I can’t wait to see all of the terrified looks on parents faces when they first see all of these kids running around in neon, yolo trucker hats and other obscene apparel that covers almost no skin, and then hear the screeching dubstep come blaring out of the Electric Adventure area. Should be a blast and a clash of cultures. The park will also be open late for people who bought Electric Adventure tickets, so you will have an extra 2 hours, until midnight, to ride roller coasters before slinking on home. Tickets are still on sale so grab them before they are gone.
Dubstep | Singularity Ft. Nilu – Horizon

Together, Singularity and Nilu melt hearts. This track is beautiful. Nilu’s voice is the perfect addition to these incredible melodic instrumentals. The drop makes me think of a blend of Zedd and Seven Lions, which might be the most popular combo created. Truly and excellent job from Singularity and Nilu. “Horizon” is the title track from Singularity’s upcoming EP, releasing April 30th.

My love for FreshNewTracks and electronic music in general started before I came out to California for college. It was summer 2010, and I was looking at music blogs to find some fresh sounds to blast in my dorm room before nights out or headphones while cranking out homework in the library. FreshNewTracks was one that many of my friends back East suggested. I visited the site, downloaded a few remixes by Kaskade and my music life was changed.
Since that time three years ago, I have been a frequent (3 times a day) visitor of FreshNewtTracks, but have also branched out to a variety of other sites to find the newest electro, dubstep, trance and everything in between. My musical taste is quite broad, my favorites are Seven Lions, Adventure Club, Porter, Morgan Page, Stumbleine, and everything that drops harder than Joe Frazier after being socked by Ali. After getting numerous messages, emails, and texts from friends in the last year asking for newest music in my library, I decided it was time to share. I’ve teamed up with Chazzz to start a weekly playlist, and I will be posting my top tracks of the week every monday evening on FNT. I have a music bank full of stuff I cant wait to show all you. I promise I will find the best sounds to make your ears wetter than the streets of Seattle.
Since this is the first weekly playlist, I will start with my all time top 5 songs and 5 new songs. I wanted to share my go-to songs with you guys to give you a feel for my sound and also introduce you to 5 new jams. Enjoy!

RECAP VIDEOS: Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3
Being from Colorado I went into SnowGlobe Music Festival in South Lake Tahoe, CA a bit cocky thinking it would be impossible for me to get cold but the first day proved me wrong. Despite being bundled up in huge down jackets, the entire crowd was amped and ready to rage. We got a late start to the first day and walked-in mid set with the crowd in full force already with Minnesota throwing down. With constant top-notch releases from Minnesota all year I was really excited to see him live and he didn’t disappoint. Next up was the first night headliner, Wiz Khalifa. I was following Wiz’s Tweet’s and Instagram’s and he was not ready for the cold but he didn’t let it hold him back. The crowd exploded as he opened with Black and Yellow and he kept the energy the entire time playing all his big hits. The stage set-up was incredible and watching Wiz live surrounded by massive pine trees and snow coming down was surreal. Wiz ended earlier than the schedule indicated and we rushed to the shuttles because we had to make it back for the after party. The after party that night was what I was most excited for because Seven Lions was the headliner. Kill Paris was slotted to play before Seven Lions but unfortunatly he got stuck in Indiana and wasn’t able to make it. The set up in the hotel was one of the most awkward setups I’ve ever seen, it felt like high school prom gone EDM but that wasn’t going to hold us back. Seven Lions was without a doubt the best performance of the night and he will soon be at all major festivals. One of my favorite songs ever is his Florence and the Machine – Cosmic Love Remix and he dropped a great version of it and I guarantee anyone who didn’t know who he was before the show was googling him immediately after. He exceeded my expectations and make sure to add him to your “MUST SEE” list.

Heard a 3 minute clip of this VIP about a month back, since it basically vanished from the public’s memory. This is incredible, Seven Lions made this a Merry Christmas indeed.
