Albums | 1tbsp Drops “2007”
Posted by VMan on November 8, 2022
1tbsp is an indie-house project from Australian artist Maxwell Byrne (aka Golden Vessel) which has a sound that can be likened to a mix between Fred Again, Mall Graband Four Tet. His new track “2007” is off of an upcoming project, due out next month. Listen to “2007” by 1tbsp above now and read a quote on the release after the jump!
“This idea started from a day of recording with David Versace (of First Beige), one of the first things he played was this synth line that I knew I wanted to try re-work it and speed up. After almost figuring the song out, George Nicholas (of Seekae) helped with the last few finishing touches. 2007 feelsreally influenced by a monthly club night I was throwing in Brisbane last year called “sumoclic nights” (which both David & I DJ’d). My dance music taste and love for DJing really grew and this track feels like it’s a result of that time.” –1tbsp
Alternative, Pop | Martin Weston Releases “Loose Knit Heart”
Posted by VMan on August 22, 2021
Martin Weston isn’t your everyday singer-songwriter. The up-and-coming London based musician possesses a potent motion in his storytelling with folk music running through his veins from a young age. His latest offering “Loose Knit Heart” has elements of acousitc, folk, and pop blended together which reminded me a lot of early 2000’s music in this space like Jack Johnson or Ben Harper. This track few on me a ton and well worth it. Martin explains the meaning behind “Loose Knit Heart’’ below. Stream the song above now.
“I wrote Loose Knit Heart after fully realising how brilliant a thing the perfectly crafted pop song is. Loose Knit Heart is my attempt at something along those lines, trying to add catchy hooks and melodies everywhere I could.
It’s an acoustic singer-songwriter, collaborating with an experimental electronic music producer called Tom Arniel. I came along with an acoustic pop song and he added a really textural groove by recording pots and pans in his kitchen. Making it was so fun.”
Deep House | EC Twins’s New Collab With Guordan Banks “Keep You In Mind” Is Worth The Listen
Posted by VMan on July 2, 2016
I’m glad to see EC Twins are really stepping up their game. “Keep You In Mind” is a significant step up, very well-produced house and in collaboration with Guordan Banks. A dude who knows what he is doing.
EC Twins have been out for quite a while now, but are now perhaps setting the stage to be trend setters themselves. With this release, they focused on old-school synthesizers and recording real instruments to create the mood – layered with proper electronic of course.
EC Twins are setting sail on a new experience, join them.

I’m going to be perfectly honest, I have not listened to any of Lana Del Rey’s latest singles, I’m just not into her, but a few remixes have presented themselves to me, and this one in particular by Y//2//K trillifies the CT boarding school taught diva’s latest release “Utraviolence,” as if her and her producer downed a whole bottle of lean before recording it. I guess a little chop and screw can make anyone sound like a G, even Lana. For real though, this remix bangs so sit back and enjoy! This is a must listen and a must download!
