Hip-Hop | XV ft. Betty Trouble – Learn to Fly

Posted by on December 22, 2011

XV is BLOWING UP lately. Just a year ago, no one would of really paid that much attention to all of his releases, but that was a year ago and here we are now. This is chill rap, you’re not going to be dancing like you would to Big Sean’s DANCE. This collaboration with Betty Trouble might be one of XV’s better moves, it offers a range to his song that he couldn’t of conquered by himself. The addition of female vocals adds a certain je ne sais quoi, don’t ya think?

Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Rap | Mystikal, Roscoe Dash, Wale, XV, Ashanti, Busta

If you’re still trying to decipher the words that came out of young Khaliyl’s mouth, stop.  The kid’s only two.  I’m sure if he knew how to talk, he would be rolling the ABC’s of rap off his little British tongue.  He’s definitely got the body language of rap down and he bobs with the beat.  If Tinie Tempah doesn’t sign this kid, Jay-Z better.

In other news, “DANGERRRRR, WATCH YO’SELF,” Mystikal is back and he brought his friend vengeance .  Is it just me or is this close to vintage?  Just when I thought he had packed his bags, he inks a new deal with Cash Money and debuts this brand new record.  Thank you Weezy?

The fifth track off Roscoe Dash’s debut EP, “J.U.I.C.E.” which is set for a a December 20th release.  Roscoe & Wale saw unparalleled success with their collab on “No Hands” in which they were both featured on Waka Flocka’s hit track, so once again they link up to deliver an early morning club hit.The second Wale track is a freestyle he did with fellow DMV artist, Black Cobain, who he recently revealed in an interview was one of his favorite up and coming artists.  Personally I’ve thought Tyga’s “Rack City” was overhyped and I never really saw the appeal, but clearly the masses think otherwise.

After giving us a new track just a few days ago, Vizzy cuts the lock on another one, this time produced by The Awesome Sound.  XV was in the studio with Drama Beats earlier this week and although this track isn’t produced by Drama himself, he’s dedicating it to his #youngandreckless Squarians.

The overwhelming realization that Mystikal still had it nearly knocked me unconscious and when I heard Ashanti was back as well, I almost broke out my Discman and $10 Sony headphones to bring me back to the good-ole-days.  Sadly I don’t think we’ll ever hear the Ashanti we grew accustomed to hearing back in the late 90’s and early 00’s, but for a comeback, this isn’t terrible.  Her larynx appears to still be in tact and Busta picks up the slack to make this a decent track.  Pardon the quality, I’ll share the CDQ once I find it if you’d like.

Freestyle, Hip-Hop | Eye Candy Spittin’ Ear Candy?

It’s not everyday you’ll find a smokeshow spitting bars faster than that dude from your high school who thinks he’s a rapper.  I’ll be honest, Bailee Moore, may need some work behind the mic, but when you’re as smoke as she is, it’s hard to fail.  The Cleveland chick claims this to be her first rap ever and if that’s the case, she may have potential.  So what are my FNT faithfuls thinking about this chick?  Is she the next Chanel aka CC (Fantasy Factory’s Rapping Receptionist) — drop a few freestyles then get picked up by Maxim?  Or does she actually have musical talent?

Albums | Riff Raff ft. Diplo- Rice Out

Posted by on December 6, 2011

This is what I’m talmbout’. Move over Lil B Tha Based God, this ain’t no middle of the mall sh*t. Just when I thought Riff Raff couldn’t dominate the rap game anymore, he goes and links up with Diplo and Mad Decent. Riff Raff been havin’ thangs. He been havin’ five star chicks. He been stayin’ with ice packs on his wrist. Lines like, “You can be my job if you stay out my bidness” undoubtedly puts Riff Raff in an a lyrical category with the likes of Nas, KRS-One, and Andre 3000. There’s no question in my mind that Riff Raff will be instrumental in bringing back the conscious rap genre. You may think he rides the short bus, but that’s part of his genius, shawty. Riff Raff is everything that’s right about the hip-hop game right now. Don’t make me bring the rice out. Haters are gonna’ hate, biglifes are gonna’ slate. SOD Money Gang. One.

Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Videos | Can Biebs Really Rap?

[do action=”youtube” videoid=”CuQbHvPjcBw”/]

Ok, this is something that needs to be discussed.  This is not the first time we’ve seen Justin Bieber go in.  While some people are fretting over the 20-year old broad’s claims that she got Bieber’s seed, the young floppy haired pop star is spitting flames on live radio and more importantly, impressing the shit out of people.  So my question to you is, can Justin Bieber really rap and will he have a career in hip-hop? Sound off in the comments section!
