Tef Poe | Rockwell Knuckles

Everytime I check up on Rockwell Knuckles he has something new, and today he released the “David Ruffin Theory,” a collaborative mixtape with Tef Poe, and you shouldn’t sleep on it. From being songwriters, lyricists, and entertainers, Rockwell and Tef can do it all, and showcase this on their project with witty hooks, dope flows, and epic beats. I’m still on my first play of the mixtape, and I’m loving it so far, ya’ll should check out the visuals for the lead single “Head Full Of Smoke.” I sincerely hope we see more of these 2 in 2014, they deserve it, only a matter of time till they get a radio hit! This is a must listen and download the mixtape for free!

If you didn’t see Timeflies twisting the chart topping track, “Timber”, you aren’t paying close enough attention.  Pitbull, Ke$ha, and producers Dr. Luke, Sermstyle, & Cirkut may have rode this radio hit to the top of the charts, but Rez and Cal just demolished this remix.  Cal. Goes. IN.

Pop, Videos | Timeflies – SMFWU [Live]

After lighting up the country with their Warning Signs tour, Timeflies will be back in the studio, clocking the hours (pun intended) for their debut full length album.  I can’t speak first hand on every tour stop, but based on their performance in Boston, it’s without question the level of production going into each and every one of their live shows has skyrocketed since the last time I saw them.  Lights, fog, more lights, huge sound, energy, live freestyles, and much more of everything on an even larger scale.

The video above is a compilation, chopped up and blended together by Mike O’Brien Films, of several live performances of their radio ready single, “SMFWU”.  Without question a fan favorite anthem off of their recent EP, Warning Signs, but this visual gives you an idea of how live these shows get.

Grab the EP below and check out a few photos from Timeflies homecoming show in Boston.

DJ-Set, Exclusive, Progressive House | EDX – No Xcuses 144 (FNT Exclusive)

Posted by on December 3, 2013

artworks-000058108783-t3xmkj-t500x500The flag bearer for Swiss house, EDX has become synonymous with a soothing, progressive sound that is such a refresher when songs are simply louder and louder these days. He has had a very good year, garnering remixes for the likes of Calvin Harris and Avicii, while adding several strong originals and collaborations to his already stellar back catalog.

His weekly radio show, “No Xcuses” provides an outlet for his own original releases, while also supporting his favorite tunes from others at the moment. This episode has a strong Swiss flavor, drawing not only on his own tracks, but others from Nora en Pure, Leventina, and Dave202. He matches that with the best house tracks of the moment from the likes of Hardwell, Dirty South and Sick Individuals.

Generally in the radio shows of big name DJs there are a few unreleased tracks, but it is rare to see the percentage in this mix. You will find not just one, two or even three world premiers, there are 4, yes 4 WORLD PREMIERS in this radio show. So buckle up and get ready to hear some brand new music from EDX and his friends. Tracklist after the jump.

No clue who this Bo Saris guy is, where he came from, and how come he’s not bigger than he should be, but this track “Little Bit More” is refreshing and has potential to be a huge radio hit. If you’re fan of Bruno Mars, and that Mo-Town sound that’s been making a come back, this track is for you. Who knew a white boy had so much soul? This is a must listen!

Electro-House, Progressive House | Zedd ft. Hayley Williams – Stay The Night (Remixes)

Posted by on November 7, 2013

Zedd ft Hayley Williams - Stay The Night (Remixes)

Zedd’s followup to “Clarity”, “Stay The Night” has made its ascent onto the radio airwaves and up the charts with its blend of a complex, musicality and accessibility in poppy dance music. Just as was the case with “Clarity”, “Stay The Night” has earned a huge set of remixes from some of the biggest and brightest names in dance music. Henry Fong adds his own gritty electro flavor to the track in what has been the remix favored by Zedd himself. Nicky Romero plays along with the melody, while DJ Snake opts for a more electro route, rather than 808s he has become known for, and Tiesto switches out the melody for a big room take. Grab the package on Beatport below.
