Hip-Hop | Ludacris – Party Girls ft. Wiz Khalifa, Jeremih, & Cashmere Cat
Posted by dshaq on January 31, 2014
Interesting to say the least, but this song is a guaranteed banger. Flipping the “barbie girl” theme that Miguel sings with Cashmere Cat’s production on this song works perfectly. A pretty good intro verse by Ludacris as well as a quality verse from Wiz make this song a must listen. Peep it below.
Chill | Sango ft. SPZRKT – Middle Of Things, Beautiful Wife (Stwo Remix)
Posted by Nick on January 17, 2014
I cannot even begin to express how much I feel everyone needs to jump on the Stwo wagon – like right now. As one of the keystone pioneers of a new realm of sound design, in addition to being a visionary of the future garage vibe, this Paris-based musician can not and will not stop throwing down quality track, after quality track. Check out his newest release, up for free download, a remix of producer Sango and vocalist SPZRKT’s chilled-out “Middle of Things.” If at any point you need a slightly funky, down-tempo track to spin on this fine, Friday night, you’ve found it. Like this guy on Facebook or something: you’ll want to stay updated.

House | Jeremy Olander – Bandersnatch
Posted by Middy on December 23, 2013
After his “Petroleum” remix on Pryda Friends, Jeremy Olander returns home to finish out the year with a thumping new single “Bandersnatch. Referring to the mystical creature in Lewis Carroll’s “Through The Looking Glass”, and later in “Alive In Wonderland”, the track has an ominous, foreboding quality. “Bandersnatch” bridges the gap between some of his more progressive productions and what we have seen in tracks like “Animal Garden” or “Rose Law”, making this something for all of his fans tastes. When Eric Prydz describes your track as “Oh my god, what a banger”, you know there is something special.

Progressive House | Imagine Dragons – Demons (Dzeko & Torres ‘Sunset’ Remix)
Posted by Mel on November 29, 2013
Dzeko and Torres said two days ago on Facebook that if their status got 2000 likes, then they will release a new remix today. That status did not get 2000 likes but here we are, with a new remix. We can ignore the fact that they may or may not be massive liars because they consistently put out quality tracks, usually with an occasional free download every once in a while. Their latest is a remix of Imagine Dragons’ “Demon” and it has that upbeat sound with a catchy melody that is synonymous with all of their productions.

Alternative, Indie, Pop | NAIMAH – Wolf & I // Bittersweet Refrain
Posted by Spice on November 25, 2013
I’m interrupting my regularly scheduled deep/tech house programming to deliver your ears some absolutely gorgeous indie-pop from one of D.C.’s newest and brightest songbirds. Back from #DTLA after four years at USC, 22 year-old Naimah brings a lyrical, dreamy touch to the two wonderfully assured productions below. The haunting “Wolf & I” — not an Oh Land cover, mind you — is simultaneously delicate and warm, thanks to stirring vocals and a languid yet evocative arrangement. “Bittersweet Refrain” features similarly tight vocal harmonies and heady instrumental builds, but the main highlight is really Naimah’s voice — which has a distinctly ethereal quality without sacrificing power. Par excellence. Naimah will soon be releasing her debut EP Reverie, so this is surely not the last you’ll be hearing from her — in fact, I think it’s safe to say that this is just the beginning.
