Progressive House | Twibak – Fluke
Posted by W8 on February 8, 2013
Over the years, I have remained in constant contact with Twibak from across the pond in Sweden. He is a special producer to say the least. Crafting a certain quality in his production that gives you an indefinite feeling of potential; just living life like we all do. He doesn’t release tracks that often, and so this marks a special occasion. ”Fluke” has an alleviated compression feel to it, nothing that exaggerated. Seamless transitions front to back with delicate anthemic work bundled with smooth synths and sprays. Altogether a blissful array of rhythm.

Hip-Hop | Tray Jack — Give It All
Posted by jeffwbaird on February 6, 2013
This is a triumphant new jam from 18-year-old Maryland artist Tray Jack, off his mixtape Time Travel which is currently drawing a significant amount of attention over at DatPiff. I admit that I usually exercise a little bit of profiling on young hip-hop artists, as they tend to submit songs with a rawer, less mature sound and structured rhymes. Tray Jack, however, really impressed me with this one. He has a unique and engaging flow, and over this high-quality, radio-relevant beat, shows some shades of a strong personality that emerges more throughout the project and will certainly develop as he progresses. Check out “Give It All” below and be sure to connect with the young emcee on Twitter here.

Apparel | Knot Belt Co KickStarter Campaign
Posted by BIGLIFE on January 28, 2013
Sometimes FreshNewTracks isn’t just about, well, fresh new tracks. And sometimes friends of FreshNewTracks are looking to accomplish huge feats that require help. Well this is where those two roads converge. If you’re a long-time loyal FNT fan, you may remember the gig I did about Knot Belt Co in the past. If not, you’ll get a nice introduction above/below.
Nick Manella of Knot Belts is trying to blow his side project out of the water by pushing his belts and accessories into full production mode. I’m here to help him and help you. The video will fill you in on the details, but there’s nothing like a product that has been made with passion. You can’t tell me you’d wear a belt made in China over a belt made here in the states…
If you’re feeling adventurous, charitable, or intelligent, make a pledge on KickStarter and help bring quality belts to the masses.
Trance | Ost & Meyer – Here We Go
Posted by Middy on January 22, 2013
Another selection from Anjunabeats vol 10 (hope to see you guys at the launch party), Ukranian duo Nikita Bogdanov and Vadym Porotkov, better known as Ost & Meyer make their return to Above & Beyond’s powerhouse Anjunabeats label. “Here We Go” combines entrancing piano melodies, atmospheric pads and an upbeat bass line that at 128 bpm helps bridge the gap between progressive & trance. Anjunabeats continues to deliver quality tracks and with “Wayfarer” hitting Beatport trance number one, look for that trend to only continue.
Electro-House | Lazy Rich – Brainfreeze
Posted by Middy on January 21, 2013
Lazy Rich much like Wolfgang Gartner, is revered by other Djs for the quality of the productions and “Brainfreeze” is a prime example of that. Lazy Rich contrasts melodic builds with gritty drops of grinding electro saws and powerful bass lines that make this one of the premier releases on Doorn Records in the past few months. With a collab on the way with Syn Cole, a remix for Wideboys and a single on Chris Lake led Rising Music set for release next month, Lazy Rich is wasting no time making his mark on 2013.

They have done it again. Electro-House | Tritonal – Azuca (Topher Jones Remix)
Posted by Middy on January 19, 2013
At first I was a bit skeptical of how this remix would turn out because I am a big fan of the original, but upon hearing the remix in full, my doubts were alleviated. Topher Jones keeps the same trancey build from the original with the recognizable vocal sample that gives this track its unique quality, while giving it an extra jolt of energy, bringing it to any set and any stage with a powerful, churning electro drop. Tritonal is group going through new beginnings with the rebranding of their “Air Up There” podcast to “Tritonia” that you need to keep your eyes peeled on this year and also be on the look out for a remix competition for Topher Jones’ “Brohammer”, which official remixes by Nari & Milani & Ken Loi were the staples of festival sets for months.
