Hip-Hop, Videos | Ty x Gspence – Game Over
Posted by GMONEY on February 24, 2012
After releasing their rendition to House Party (called Frat Party) a little over a week ago, Ty and GSpence are back with a brand new original single off their upcoming project, Ivy League Kidz… Good Aftermorning. In typical Gspence form, the track features clean production, a catchy flow, and has a dope video to boot. Definitely keep your eyes and ears on this rapper/producer duo.

I don’t think you’re really ready for this. This is something serious. Coming off a recent Grammy nomination for his work on Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” album, Clinton drops a massive tape on the blogosphere. The tape features original production as well as remixes to some of Clinton’s favorite songs with an audio forward by the legendary Samuel L. Jackson. Yes, snakes on a plane Samuel L. Jackson. Below, I’ve included a direct download link to the entire project. Hit “read more” to check out the awesome tracklist. Get familiar!

Albums | Clinton Sparks Readies Upcoming “My Awesome Mixtape 2”
Posted by GMONEY on February 9, 2012
Coming off a recent Grammy nomination for his work on Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”, multi-platinium producer Clinton Sparks has been hard at work preparing for the release of his highly anticipated “My Awesome Mixtape 2”. Rumored to be narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, the project will be heavily dance inspired (think Skrillex meets Jim Jones or Sidney Samson meets Rick Ross) and is slated for a Valentine’s day release. Talk about bawse. Now I know what I’m getting my ladyfriend for Valentine’s day. To hold us over until then, Get Familiar was kind enough to drop off a few tracks for our listening pleasure that I’ve included below. If these tracks are any indicator of what’s to come, 2012 could be Clinton Sparks’s break out year as an artist. Get familiar with Clinton’s movement by connecting with him on Facebook and Twitter. As a bonus, hit read on to check out Clinton’s recent video for “No Swag” featuring Jacob Kasher and Phil Shaouy.
Freestyle, Hip-Hop, Videos | Locksmith & Wale

Immortal Technique? No, but sounds almost exactly the same, even his style matches up. Illuminati is the first preview for Locksmith’s upcoming project, Labyrinth, set to drop this March. His name might be Locksmith, but I think they should call him wordsmith for how devastating his verses are on this track.
Going off on an A$AP Rocky single, is Wale with a smooth versed freestyle. He comes in quick after the voice samples keeping it tight to the beat, doing a great job maintaining the vibe of the instrumental. Wale is rapping about going hard…are you surprised?

Videos | Exclusive: Jay Fresh- The Motto Freestyle

“Blowing on that doja/still losing my composure/and I’m still gettin’ wiser as these n*ggas gettin’ older.”
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. Living that maxim, Jay Fresh linked up with Taylin Draper Media to put his own spin on Drake’s famed “Motto” single. With SXSW quickly approaching, Conception Crafters and Jay Fresh have been hard at work with SuperVison, DVS, and Jus-Stone (just to name a select few), aiming to release another project before the masses converge on Austin. In addition to his own project, the rising internet sensation will also be featured on Gramatik’s forthcoming release as well. Talk about Y.O.L.O. It’s only a matter of time until I’ll be asking Jay for a photo, but you already know doe. Be sure to follow Jay on his journey via Twitter and Facebook. *Insert conspicuous delta symbol here*

Electro | Scott Summers- I Am Scott Summers (Mixtape)

When P from H-Town sends tracks over, I know it’s something serious. I’m not even a big remix guy, so you know this mixtape is solid. Scott has been producing and song writing for over 10 years and has a knack for banging out hot originals (and models). His influences include RedOne, Max Martin, and Swedish House Mafia. Not a bad lineup if you ask me. Below, I’ve included my two favorite cuts from the project (one of which Interscope picked up as the official remix) as well as the link to the entire project. If you like what you hear, be sure to “Like” his Facebook page here.
