Hip-Hop | Sol —Jump In (prod. The Zillas)
Posted by jeffwbaird on July 16, 2013
Though I’m sure we will all enjoy the new perspective that his recent trip around the world afforded him, I’m very thankful Sol is back to making music. Armed with another beautiful, up-tempo, horn-laden backdrop provided by The Zillas, Sol shows that he hasn’t missed a step while away, garnering a large amount of momentum as his new EP Eyes Open nears. Take a listen below, cop it on iTunes, and get ready for what I wholeheartedly expect to be another great project from this talented Seattle emcee.
Drum & Bass, Dubstep | I Am Legion – Make Those Moves
Posted by Mach on July 15, 2013
I am really excited to finally get to post this epic download from Noisia and the Foreign Beggars’ collaboration project, I Am Legion. This track has been owning my ears for weeks now and finally we can all have a good quality copy of it to blast through our speakers. “Make Those Moves” is the first Neuro-hop track we have heard from Noisia and I have to say it will definitely set the bar for the next generation of bass producers. Dubstep will soon take a backseat to this Hip-Hop and Neuro-funk infused genre.

Indie, Progressive House | Smallpools – Dreaming (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Mel on June 28, 2013
The Chainsmokers are back with another remix. Surprisingly, I wasn’t that big a fan of their previous remix but I really enjoy this one. It seems they have carved out their own sub genre of progressive house mixed with indie and they do it well. For their latest project they took to remixing Smallpools’ “Dreaming” and they’ve done so in their typical fashion. This may be one of my favorites of theirs.
Chill, Hip-Hop, Mixtapes, Rap | Jetpack Jones – Before Infinity: The Universe’s Pregame

Well, for those of you that didn’t think Jetpack Jones loved you, here’s 8 track to prove to you he doesn’t. You all know how much free music the Lakewood native blesses us with, but this is something else. In addition to releasing a full mixtape in this coming weeks, he gives us a PRE TAPE, filled with 8 solid songs I guarantee you can all chill out to. Jetpack Jones is easily the hardest working rapper I’ve ever had the opportunity to present to you all on FNT, so please support him by downloading his tape via our buddies at Hot New Hip Hop below and grabbing the full project, Beyond Infinity, when it drops.

Hip-Hop | J.Cole – Let Nas Down (Remix ft. Nas)
Posted by dshaq on June 24, 2013
“It’s just part of the game, becoming a rap king, my N*%*a you aint let Nas down”
Just like Kanye did in “Big Brother” with No I.D. being his mentor, young Jermaine decided to serenade his own mentor is Nas. Being a good mentor and all, Nas decided to hop on the track and spit a couple verses to his prodigy. The beat is perfect for the track, bringing a very 90s sound that made it seem like one Nas would have used. Born Sinner is hands down my favorite project that came out the 18th so if you have yet to grab it, I highly suggest doing so! Cole World.
Electronic | What So Not – High You Are [Preview]
Posted by Spice on June 20, 2013
Does it get more buzzy than Flume right now? Seriously. Just when you thought you couldn’t get more of the guy, you find out his brand new side project (with fellow Australian producer Emoh — there must be something in the water down undah, I tell ya) is set to drop its debut EP next week. What’s more, the first track previewed is — yet again — par excellence. With wistful, airy vocals, a super catchy hook, funky, off-kilter leads and a varied bassline, Flume (and What So Not) prove — yet again — that they’re some of the most inventive and exciting kids in the game right now. Look for The Quack EP to drop on June 25th via OWSLA.
