Videos | Ryan Leslie- Good Girl
Posted by GMONEY on December 26, 2011
Just a few months ago, a behind-the-scenes production leaked of Kanye West and Jay-Z’s creative process while making, “Watch The Throne.” in Wiltshire, England. While others were watching Kanye and Jay’s every move, I was looking at the other players in the room. Among them were Russell Crow, Beyonce, and Young Guru. Interestingly enough, however, I spotted Ryan Leslie in the video as well.
Last week, Ryan Leslie sat down with AllHipHop.com, and said that while in England, he had the opportunity to sit in on the “Watch The Throne” sessions and was heavily inspired by what he saw. It’s no surprise now, that Ryan is making this kind of music. He has struggled to find his own lane as an artist for years now. The quality of his production, however, has never been in question. Last night, he dropped the third of ten video that will make up the “Les Is More” visual album. It’s a champagne-laden track that has shades of Drake and Kanye West in it. The gold jewelry, black aristocracy lines, the whole nine.
The video was not received well by his fans, and in typical Ryan Leslie fashion, he issued a detailed response to those who had negative things to say about the video in question. I’m on the fence. I think it’s good that Ryan Leslie is getting edgier. He needs to evolve. If he doesn’t, he risks no longer being relevant. I can’t make up my mind on this one, so I’d like you to make it up for me. Leave me your thoughts in the comment section below. Should Ryan Leslie continue in this lane, or should he go back to his old neo-soul-I-made-a-perfect-SAT-grade-and-went-to-harvard image?

Mainstream Remix, Mashups | Acetronik & 3LAU – Relics of A Dance Attic
Posted by Juicebox on December 17, 2011
3LAU can’t be stopped…plain and simple. This kid is the Ty Cobb of the industry just putting out hit after hit (you see what I did there?). This mixtape however, is not the result of just 3LAU, “Relics of A Dance Attic” wouldn’t be half of what it is without the production skills of a guy by the name of Acetronik. The product of these two creative minds collaborating is indescribable, take a listen to the first track, a remix of “Knocked Down,” and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. Enough from me, download, listen, and spread this damn music.

One thing that people tend to overlook when it comes to 90s Finest, is the production talent of lead man, Steve Morris. This remix of Wynter Gordon’s killer track Dirty Talk, exemplifies Steve’s ability to add extra dance-floor punch to an already epic track.

Shogun has been on fire lately and with these productions you will see why. Here are three songs from him, 2 original and 1 remix that show that this American DJ is ready to ascend to the trance elite. The 2 song EP tells a story of a trip to space over great pulsing trance tracks. The remix may be the best production of them all using the original track from W&W to perfection and the vocals from Bree fitting nicely. Get the Lotus / Space Odyssey on Beatport HERE. Hip-Hop, RnB | The Weeknd – Superhero + Cure

The Weeknd is slowly becoming one of my favorite artists today. Along with Frank Ocean, he is the future face of R&B music, or what we at FNT like to call baby making music. Production credits go to The Noise on both these tracks. While waiting for his upcoming project, Echoes of Silence, feel free to grab his two latest masterpieces House of Balloons & Thursday.
