Hip-Hop | G4shi – Don’t Forget Me (Prod. Smokie Morrison)
Posted by VMan on April 17, 2014
The kid G4shi hits us with another banger “Don’t Forget Me” produced by his go-to producer Smokie Morrison, who you might also remember as the producer on “Who Made Me.” The best way I can describe G4shi’s records and his music is that they are reflective of his life and how he’s feeling at that time, documenting his every move and sharing it with his fans. I dig it. This is a must listen and a must download!

I’ve got this sort of, hip-hop-fairy-godfather type of best friend that drops in every now and then to enlighten me with only the best underground hip hop on the rise. For the past few years, he’s been the one to introduce me to everyone from Afu-Ra to G-Eazy, Blue Scholars to Logic, Black Element to even Aloe Blacc. Need I continue? So recently when he told me one of his own cousin’s picked up producing, I knew it had to be good. Everyone, meet Milwaukee’s own, Spencer Joles. “Long Nights” is a v trill track to get lost in, with mellow vibes and steady rhymes throughout. I’ve also included his newest release, “Cosmic Dialect,” which demonstrates this guy’s commitment to steady releases as well as testing out all different production styles. This young rapper already has a pretty stacked selection of * free * original work and covers on his Soundcloud so take a minute to dive in and check it out.
Electro | Q-Tip – Work It Out (Stint Remix)
Posted by VMan on April 15, 2014
Fresh in my inbox, this remix of Q-Tip’s “Work It Out” is going to make some noise and turn some heads, I already know. Unknown to most, but you’ve heard his productions, producing for the likes of Lana Del Rey & Banks, Stint is a Los Angeles/Vancouver producer highly sought after by the industry for his progressive sound and yet has managed to stay under the radar until now! This record is infectious, and does justice to the hip hop legend that is Q-Tip by revisiting this classic. This is a must listen hands down, and I guess we’ll wait for that download button!

Chill, Electro | L’homme aux 4 lettres – Kimono

French producer L’homme aux 4 lettres released a beauty today with “Kimono,” a dreamy melodic instrumental with hard hitting drums and an oriental flow. I personally can’t get enough of it as I’m completely under the charm and magic of the sound. If you’re looking for to get away trough the power of music and a little peace of mind, “Kimono” has all the chill vibes you need! Don’t sleep on this one, this is a must listen and a must download!

Jersey Club | Rusty Hook – Get So Fly
Posted by mimada on April 6, 2014

As soon as you hear that iconic riff, you’ll already know what it is – but lemme just tell you to wait a second because this is, quite frankly, even better. As soon as I pressed play on Bordeaux-producer, Rusty Hook’s Baby Bash remix, “Get So Fly,” I straight up got the chills! Imagine the original, except without the cheesy lyrics, with a Jersey Club twist and full of unexpected breaks and pauses that leave you just dying to hear more. In the short amount of time this track has been live via Cosmonostro and Marmorean Records, it has already ran dry of free downloads, but you can still take 4 minutes and 20 seconds to get absolutely lifted, shifted, and higher than the ceiling (you know the rest).
