Progressive House | Angelika Vee – Turn the Lights Up (Leventina Remix)

Angelika Vee - Turn the Lights Up (Leventina Remix)

Leventina killed it in 2011 – 2012 with tunes like “We’re Gonna Start”, “Blonds Have More Fun”, “Revolution” and “Right Or Wrong”, but that momentum fell off largely in 2013 with some lackluster, somewhat generic big room tracks. These tunes were bookended at the end of 2012 & 2013 by their totally original remix of “Blood Pressure” and then the collab with EDX “Tempest”. They return to something more original & melodic with this remix of Angelika Vee “Turn The Lights Up”.

Angelika Vee is a super talented singer / songwriter and now producer who is now sticking it out on her own, much like trance vocalist JES. It is not that big a leap for many of these singers since they write the entire top line of most songs, which includes the melody, so to produce the rest of the song, and get all of the credit, is not that big a change. Leventina give the tune of boost of energy with a well crafted, big melody that fit well with the vocals.

Chill, Electronic | She The Monster – I Like You The Way You Are (Lightfoot Remix)

Posted by on June 11, 2014

If you’re in need of a new chill track, here’s a gem for your collection. Lightfoot remixed “I Like You The Way You Are” by She The Monster into a mellow masterpiece. The Boston based producer’s drums are on point, as well as the melody. Lightfoot is a creator of hiphop beats and instrumentals, but I am loving this track with vocals since they fit so well over the relaxing beat. This song would be excellent to play on a warm summer night. The funky vibes are free to download right from Soundcloud!

Progressive House | Zedd – Find You (Martell Bootleg)

Zedd - Find You (Martell Bootleg)

At the moment, I am sitting at my desk with the adjacent window open like not even a lot. The breeze is pretty cold though, but if I close it my room will probably get too warm to comfortably apply too much cologne when I go out. I guess what I’m getting at is, because of the cold air currently infiltrating me, there has been some shrinkage. Shrinkage pertaining to the number of remixes to Zedd’s “Find You” I can post. I already posted Moiez’s and because nobody wants to listen to the same song remixed a million times, I was not planning on posting anymore. When I woke up this morning, I was not expecting all three black guys at my work to initiate a fist bump with me but they did, or to be posting another remix to this song.

The obviously Swedish producer, Martell, is the guy who convinced me to do so. This is his first release since his remix of Klingande’s “Jubel” and like that track, this one too is carried by an excellent melody. The melodic components of this song are just so good and while, yes, I would have preferred different vocals, this is still a play worthy track.

Chill, Trap | WRLD – Orbit (feat. Richard Caddock)

Posted by on June 4, 2014

Monstercat presents “Orbit (feat. Richard Caddock)” by WRLD today! For those that aren’t familiar, WRLD is a 16 year old producer from the Netherlands that will blow your socks off. The piano and jazzy drums start this track off with a chill feel. It moves into more of a trap-ish vibe as the song progresses, and compliments the vocals nicely. If this synth filled, sultry jam appeals to you it is available on Itunes and Beatport.

Chill, House | U.S. Royalty – Into the Thicket (Dino Remix)

Posted by on June 2, 2014

I’m really excited to share this song with you for a multitude of reasons, one being that it beautifully redefines what typically comes to mind when you hear the words “Swedish” and “house.” This track from Stockholm-based producer, DINO, is a delightful, summery indie house remix to U.S. Royalty’s “Into The Thicket,” perfectly integrating that American folk feel with an electric beat. Categorize this under “Songs to Listen to While Driving at Sunset With the Windows Down” and you won’t regret it.

Gentle Bones - Until We Die (Manfred & Atran Remix)

Tyra Banks blows me away with her undeniable smarts but for some reason, when I first heard this song, I did not feel the same way. To be fair, my first listen was heard through laptop speakers so I jerked my way over to my room, grabbed my headphones and proceeded to get into the zone. I rubbed the tip for a second, gave it a kiss, plugged the headphone jack in and pressed play. I actually enjoyed the song very much on that listen and each time I listened to afterwards I would like it more and more. The producers behind this remix are Manfred, a gentleman from Singapore with only 34 followers on Soundcloud and Atran, a producer with 170 followers on Soundcloud and yet, an odd 70k likes on Facebook. Pretty freaky stuff to be sure but the song is good so look past it and enjoy. Also, if you don’t enjoy it, keep it to yourself. There’s no room for criticism here at FNT.

Progressive House | Didrick – A Part Of You

Didrick - A Part Of You

Didrick is a young producer from Sweden who has flown under the radar of pretty much everybody not from that area. He has done official remixes for Avicii & Nicky Romero’s “I Could Be The One” as well as Cazzette’s “Beam Me Up” and yet he is not very well known. It’s safe to say the main reason for that is because his catalogue of releases is extremely small, with just those two songs being on it. Another entry to that catalogue was made however when Didrick released his first single, “A Part Of You”, not long ago. Quite simply, the song is really good. If he keeps making tracks like this then there’s no doubt he’ll become just as household a name as Ryan Seacrest. Sadly, the song is only out in Scandinavian countries at the moment so give his Facebook a like and stay up to date on the worldwide release. He says it’ll be soon.
