Mainstream Remix | Collin McLoughlin & Skrux – Castle Walls (Remix)
Posted by BIGLIFE on January 7, 2014
2011 saw a unique collaboration between hip hop icon T.I. And vocal powerhouse Christina Aguilera. While the song went slightly under the radar in the pop charts it sported an emotional chorus with a stirring vocal performance from Cristina Aguilera that lends itself quite well towards a melodic bass rework. Enter Collin Mcloughlin and Skrux, who’s synth heavy interpretation of Castle Walls provides a melancholy take on the hip hop focused original. A soaring trance like arp guides the listener through a wave of heavy bass and glitched vocals, making this interpretation of Castle Walls a perfect balance between subtle beauty and overdriven low end.

KickRaux teamed up with Walshy Fire whom you might know as 1/3 of Major Lazer to remix “O.G. Bobby Johnson” by Que and it’s the perfect blend of electro-trap and rap. The ladies are going to be shaking their asses to this one, and the fellas are going to be leaning back like Terror Squad in ’05. Man, this track makes me feel good to be a gangster. This is a must download and a must listen, if not go kick rocks! Go support them on Hypem and give them a heart to get them up the chart!

Krono always delivers with the music, and this time they linked up with the duo VanJess to layer vocals on an original production of theirs “Redlight.” Different from their regular upbeat sound, they went the chill rout with this one, and it works perfectly. Other then the fact that I’m ready to sleep from a long day at work, this track is perfect to relax to, and zone out. This is my first time hearing VanJess and man these girls can sing. Check out their YouTube channel for more tracks from the Nigerian sisters! This is a must listen and a must download!

Progressive House, Trance | Artificial – Prototype

Andrew Bayer, the maker of my favorite album of the year, “If It Were You, We’d Never Leave” has teamed up with fellow Anjunabeats members, Norin & Rad to form the duo Artificial. The US branch of the Anjunabeats family, the three of these producers have always looked to push the traditional boundaries of genre, and they continue that trend here. The track combines the upbeat complexity we see in Andrew Bayer’s clubbier selections, with the melodic abilities seen in Norin & Rad’s tunes. It is the perfect storm of their talents.

Pop, RnB | Justin Bieber – Confident (Ft. Chance The Rapper)
Posted by dshaq on December 9, 2013
Chance the Rapper and Justin Bieber together on a track is now a thing. The two have joined forces to go in on this absolute ladies anthem. Smoother than a baby’s bottom, Bieber’s vocals steal the show and show his maturation as an artist especially with enlisting talent such as Chance the Rapper for a feature. Chance’s verse is a perfect way to let the world know who he is. He dropped a great verse but made sure it was Bieber’s spotlight.
