20 year old Nico Schinco hit me up out of the blue yesterday and asked me to check out his latest track “Sura,” which is readily available on Beatport for purchase, and to which he will be giving away all the proceeds recouped to the World Wildlife Fund. I happily obliged to his request a day after, and man this tune has vibes and melody for days! Trancy, progressive, tribal, these are just a few words to describe this sound, but you really have to hear it for yourself to grasp the aura of “Sura.” This is a must listen and support by copping this track NOW!

Vicious Recordings is turning 21 this year and celebrate this momentous occasion, they have compiled 21 classics and 21 new remixes of songs that represent the storied history of the label. In a genre that has only been around for about 35 years, it is all to often we see labels, clubs and other institutions fade into obscurity after a short run on top. To remain one of the great labels, riding the highs and lows of the industry and remaining a consistent force at discovering new talent and promoting great music throughout the years. Based in Australia, just a few of the guys the label has helped break include Avicii, Dirty South, Peking Duk, Angger Dimas and many more.
With the compilation coming out tomorrow on Beatport, we are proud to premiere the Dave Winnel remix of Sgt Slick “Everyday”. Those of you who are fans of Kaskade’s compilation albums (raises hand), will recognize the piano-heavy remix by Digital Lab from Dance.Love, but now hometown kid, Dave Winnel takes over the reigns for a remix fit for 2014. The stunning vocal is left intact as Dave Winnel adds a bouncy bass line underneath a bed of synths that are a mix of a throwback to when this tune was originally released and to the sounds of today. Love finding those tracks that absolutely take my breathe away just within the first few seconds of pressing play. This week that award goes to Belgium producer BA?EL and his remix of “Pick Me Up” by the 17-year-old Liverpool-based femme fatale who goes by the name of Låpsley. The original is sweet, subdued track, comparable to a lovechild of Alt-J and XXYYXX or something along those lines.
BA?EL’s remix, however, kicks up the sensual intensity of the original, creating a final product that’s sure to have set the mood (and then some) by the end of your first listen. Catch this free download and keep your eyes on both of these artists, I’ve got good feelings about them.

Mr. Carmack tracks truly speak for themselves.
However, the artist that this remix is derived from is definitely worth nothing. Breezy LoveJoy (also known as Anderson Paak) seems to be a very under the radar talent along the same funky feel as Carmack. You can catch Anderson Paak on the Wintervention Tour featuring Wax this December, and it seems they’ve got quite a few shows lined up so check here to see if there’s one in ya ‘hood.

Ta-Ku hit this in the sweet spot. This. Is. So. Flyyy. Taking all the necessary elements from L D R U’s original ambient-hop version to make a more minimal remix that goes, this shouldn’t go unnoticed. The original version ‘The Tropics‘ by L D R U hits just as hard if I say so myself, so I attached both; your ears will be thanking you later.
