Hip-Hop | OnCue Ft. Mike Posner – Kinda Late (prod. 88-Keys)
Posted by Mach on November 14, 2011
OnCue is my favorite up and coming rapper. I wont lie though, seeing Mike Posner’s name on this track made me want to not listen to it. I obviously listened to it, and it has to be one of OnCue’s best. 88-Keys provided a sick, smooth, electric guitar based beat. Mike’s verse is actually good, but Cuey takes the win for sure. His flow is undeniable and unlike a lot of rappers today his raps are actually coherent stories. Kinda Late is off his newest project, Can’t Wait, which drops November 16th.

Hip-Hop, Videos | OnCue – Better Than Before (Music Video)

“OnCue, thats my homie, how are you?, what it do? Heyyyyyyy?”
As anticipation builds for OnCue’s highly awaited mixtape, Can’t Wait, Cuey releases new visuals with a brand new track. The video shows a darker side, but is inspiring at the same time. Cuey exercises so much emotion in his music, he makes it easy to paint our own pictures, but here he does us a favor and illustrates just what this song is about. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it over and over again. Cuey’s one of the truest artists in the game right now and as things continue falling into place for him, it’s going to be tough to stop him. Can’t Wait coming November 16th!

Videos | OnCue – All The Way (Music Video + MP3)
Posted by Grubeats on September 23, 2011
Cuey dropped his most recent single, “All The Way”, two days back, only to be accompanied by a video which dropped just yesterday. As the third release, I’d presume this is the last single off his upcoming mixtape, Can’t Wait, due out by September’s end I believe. The song, produced by Cuey’s main man, CJ Luzi along with Manicanparty, who produced the majority of the mixtape, is on point as always. The video was directed by Adam Ross of Visual High Life, who has done the majority of Cuey’s visual work in the past. Cuey’s clearly ready to break out of his cage and deliver a project that will finally earn him the recognition he deserves. #CantWait

Hip-Hop | Avicii – Levels (The Boy From Ipanema Vocal Mix) & more
Posted by BIGLIFE on May 24, 2011
I apologize for the lack of posting as of late – I went from exams into graduation week and now I’m posting up in South Beach for a minute. With that said, the following post packs a wide range of sounds that are a compilation of my favorite tracks from the last few days. Above are the visuals to “Three Way”, the latest masterpiece from SNL’s Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake.
Here’s an interesting take on Avicii’s latest hit “Levels (formerly known as ID). This artist reminds me of Collin Mcloughlin…

Hip-Hop | OnCue – It Usually Goes [Official Music Video] | Hip-Hop

OnCue hit us with the visuals to his hit “It Usually Goes”. I may be biased but it seems as though my earbuds have been partial to up and coming college artists as of late (see: the Deans List Mixtape). This project is just another example of how artists are pushing the bars these days. It’s visuals like the ones above that connect the fan with the artist and a much more intimate fashion. Sure, they’re simple but they still do the trick. Download the track below – the production is ill props to CJ Luzi.

Hip-Hop | Travis Barker Ft. Kid Cudi, Aleon Craft, and OnCue | Hip-Hop
Posted by Mach on March 9, 2011
I can’t believe how far Travis Barker is going in life just by playing the drums. He opened a new door to drummers everywhere. Playing the drums isn’t just a beat, but a lifestyle. Kid Cudi comes in on the track with his infamous style of chill verses that we all love. With the SICK drums and Cudi doing his thing, this is an all around KILLER track.

Did someone say Outkast? No, but this ATL grown group sure as hell sounds like them. This track has everything that was great about Outkast, Big Boi sound a like busting raps on the mic and a beat that only Andre 3000 could have come up with. Not very many artist go with the Outkast vibe, Aleon Craft pulls it off flawlessly.

I was sad to hear that this track has nothing to do with OnCue’s upcoming mixtape, Can’t Wait. If this track didn’t make it, imagine how the tracks are that did. Hip-Hop seems to be dividing up a bit using electro, dubstep, rock, and indie like this. OnCue gives me faith that it’s not going to be a bad thing, and we should look forward to whats coming.

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | OnCue – Left Overs
Posted by BIGLIFE on November 30, 2010
If you’re looking for a new mixtape that features a diverse selection of sounds look no further. OnCue continues to impress with this latest project. I’ve posted four songs below that I believe showcase his talents and various sounds well. Here’s the info off the mixtape site:
Back in September, OnCue released genre-bending mixtape Cuey Sings the Blues to great response from critics, tastemakers and fans alike. Three months later, the Connecticut native (and freestyle series alum) has hooked up with DJBooth.net and Academy Printwear to bring fans his highly-anticipated outtake collection, Leftovers.
The project consists of eight new, never-before-heard joints, plus seven previously-unreleased fan favorites. Included are Booth-acclaimed leaks “Picky Nikki,” “Story of a Lifetime” and “Your Own Supply.”
