House | Oliver Heldens Releases Second Single As HI-LO “Renegade Mastah” On Heldeep Records
Posted by Juicebox on July 24, 2015
After claiming HI-LO as his bass-heavy alter ego, Oliver Heldens finally sees the official release of the first single on his artist imprint, Heldeep Records. Coming from HI-LO just as expected, “Renegade Mastah” is the futuristic version of a song that has been a staple in EDM’s historic rise. HI-LO takes us back to a time where raving in warehouses was illegal, but the raw, unrefined nature of the gatherings was the point of appeal. We only received a preview when the news was initially announced, but Oliver Heldens now lets us in on his HI-LO masterpiece. “Renegade Mastah” can be found on Beatport for official purchase.

Future House | Christofi Unveils Future House Remix of Baby Bash’s “Baby I’m Back”
Posted by Juicebox on July 7, 2015
There’s an interesting irony when it comes to dance music’s newest genre, future house. The genre, which was championed by the likes of Oliver Heldens and Tchami, is characterized by its groove-driven bass lines that borrows vintage sounds from dance music, while delivering a main stage punch. The genre, which is supposed to be the “future” of dance music, actually relies on the past, and some future house producers have even taken to looking to the past to draw inspiration for their music. Since he made his debut in 2014, Christofi has steadily grown to become one of Los Angeles’ most promising house talents, and today, the serial remixer has delivered his latest effort – a groovy remix of Baby Bash’s “Baby, I’m Back.” On the remix, Christofi increases the tempo and weaves together uplifting piano melodies with thumping kicks and intricate synth work to create a remix that will have you out of your seat and grooving on the dance floor.
