Ahead of the March 5th release of his debut album “Speed Of Life”, Dirty South drops off this heavenly collab with Deniz Koyu “Halo”. It has all the hallmarks of a track from the late 2000s with an updated twist. “Halo” combines an old school groove with emotive strings, a quick alternating bass line and anthemic synth chords that bring this track to the festival stage and make it a must have for WMC. With these two incredibly innovative producers on one track, you would have to expect greatness and they delivered with this angelic track that keeps your attention from start to finish.

Skiff drops off a new record “Dazed and Confused” off his upcoming project. This latest track has an old school feel that is reminiscent of Golden Age Hip Hop. Skiff flows effortlessly over the beat to make a chill single with clever wordplay. Download “Dazed and Confused” below and be sure to follow Skiff on Twitter.

Chill, Hip-Hop, Mixtapes, Rap | Jetpack Jones – Afterburners 3 Mini Movie (FNT Exclusive)

Posted by on January 22, 2013

FNT favorite and frequenter Jetpack Jones drops off his longest video to date. Being the fact that it’s quite literally a mini-movie, it spans 7 and a half minutes, but they’re an enjoyable 7 and a half minutes. Jetpack and a few of the homies that will be featuring on Afterburners 3 all star in the movie. The music is on point, my favorite track being the old school sample one that happens after the first encounter with LB, who’s clowning on a statue in King park. Jetpack Jones is the only rapper I know who has been consistently releasing good music for the past two years, and if this is any indication of what his next project will be like, then I can’t wait. Like his facebook page below and check out the video above.

DO SOMETHING

Drum & Bass | Wilkinson – Need To Know / Direction

Posted by on December 16, 2012

Wilkinson has been involved in the Dnb scene for quite some time now, but doesn’t seem to get the recognition he deserves. His latest two sided release of Need to Know / Direction has been played at least 10 times in the past week every single day in my playlist. Need To Know is an outstanding, uplifting drum & bass track that sends out such great positive vibes. You don’t see these kind of emotional tracks come around too often, but this track gets the adrenaline pumping. To complement this great track Wilkinson has a nice Nero-Funk, old school sounding track entitled Direction along with the release. This is more along the darker side, but both tracks have amazing craftsmanship.

Dubstep, Glitch | Manic Focus – Rooster

Posted by on November 15, 2012

Manic Focus has truly put out some awesome tracks this year. The new original from him is another cool Glitch-Hop track. My favorite thing about this track besides the cover art that reminds me of Robot Chicken, is the underlying old school country. It is a rare thing to hear a harmonica strongly on a song these days, never thought I would be enjoying it on a something filled with bass as well. Big ups to Manic Focus for another hit.

Twista and Juicy J link up on this song which is set to be on Twista’s upcoming project, Reloaded, which drops on Tuesday. The track was produced by Juicy, giving that nice old school sample with the classic trap drums. Check back for that Twista tape on Tuesday. Shouts to FSD for the heads up.

Hip-Hop | Kam Royal – Rolling Stone

Posted by on June 22, 2012

I’ve never posted Kam Royal’s music. I’ve never disliked it, but I’ve never enjoyed it enough to share it with all of you. This song is different. Rolling Stone has a old school feeling beat that Kam flows over with the confidence of the most veteran rapper. If Kam continues making music like this, he’ll find himself on Fresh New Tracks much more frequently. I’ve enjoyed watching him progress as an artist, and at the rate he’s going, he won’t be stopping anytime soon.
