Progressive House | Robin S – Show Me Love (Filtercrush 2013 Remix)

Robin S - Show Me Love (Filtercrush 2013 Remix)
Yes technically the title of the track is the bootleg of “Be” and “Show Me Love” by Hardwell, but the men of the hour here are NYC duo Filtercrush. This may not be for everyone, especially for those who are in love with the iconic piano of the original, but the NYC duo keep the melody, but add their own percussive element to update for the sound of 2013. The track is free, so don’t hesitate to grab it. If you are in NYC tomorrow, put on your swanky suit and dancing shoes, and come to see Filtercrush at Lavo.

NYC electronic duo ASTR released “R U With Me” a few days back, and the song is a gem. If you’re into 80’s synths, and that nu disco wave which has been making a come back, this tune is for you. Wish I had more to say, but I’ll let you discover this one on your own senses. This is an easy play, and you’ll be hooked by the first stream. Enjoy the free download, and have yourself an easy Sunday! Must listen and must download!

Pop | Vera Flash – Masochistic

Vera Flash I AMA MUSEUM

NYC artist Vera Flash just released a video for her single “Masochistic” off her 4 track EP “I Am A Museum,” and I am impressed. Vera linked up with Brooklyn producer Rusty Mack to put together a dark and poppy sound, comparable to the likes of Santigold, Lady Gaga, and M.I.A. The Colin Palmer directed video is a work of art, and we can always expect something different from Vera when it comes to visuals, you should see her video “Hustle.” This is overall a strong project, and a good teaser for the sound that we can anticipate in the future from Miss Flash. I look forward to hearing more from Vera and her team! Shout out to Rusty Mack and Red Walrus!

See there’s a big difference between being hungry and thirsty, we know what we want we just go about it differently, the hungry person work for it, the thirsty want it instantly

SundayStudDay is back again this week with another Lu Balz production. Sampling the hit track “Royals” by Lorde, it sets the direction of the track. Personally, this is one of my favorite #SundayStudDay tracks that has dropped in this series. Mike and the Tourings Boring crew kick off the Fall tour on September 27 in NYC. If you haven’t already, you can grab tickets for the tour below!

Progressive House, Videos | Cash Cash – Take Me Home (Video) + Jordy Dazz Remix

Posted by on August 7, 2013

NJ duo, Cash Cash, who’s greatest claims to fame have been their “Alive” remix and producing Krewella’s “Live For The Night“, recently released a new track “Take Me Home” and the subsequent video. “Take Me Home” has a bit more a pop feel then some of their other productions, making use Bebe Rexe’s almost childish vocal. The video looks like at any moment it could just turn into a POV porno, walking through NYC, and maybe it does at then end. They are releasing a remix package on August 19th, and the first from Jordy Dazz has been previewed. Also check out Cash Cash’s remix of Bruno Mars “Treasure”, which will be added to Audien’s on the package coming soon.

Events, Review | Paris & Simo @ Lavo NYC 7/27/13 (Review)

Paris & Simo LAvo NYC

Anybody familiar with high-end nightlife in NYC, knows Lavo and its reputation for an incredibly strict door, good-looking patrons, over-priced drinks and top-line DJs. There are plenty of places in NYC with the first three, but few have added the last one to their repertoire.

On this particular night, I was a bit sluggish from getting home from a rather aggressive night of drinking with Moiez the night before, thus I was hoping Paris & Simo would bring it to keep me going. After quickly crushing a Red Bull at a nearby Duane Reed, a walked down the familiar block of 58th in between Park & Madison, seeing drunk dudes and chicks spilling out of cabs and town cars, yelling at each other as if their hearing was already gone before they made their way into the proper line. Navigating the line is an art, pushing your way through entitled VIPs and b-rate models, just hoping to be seen by somebody, it is your job to be noticed in the mixture of plastic…. and plastic.

Indie, Interviews, Progressive House | ASTR – Operate (The Chainsmokers Remix) + Exclusive Interview

Posted by on June 20, 2013

artworks-000050858290-zkvjfa-t500x500 It has been roughly four months since my hand slightly grazed my sister’s friend’s thigh. Coincidentally, it has also been about four months since I first heard of The Chainsmokers. Since then, my hand has been many places but none as sweet as that. I have also watched The Chainsmokers grow from two decent looking guys to two excellent looking guys who make awesome music. Their first remix that got my attention was of Jonsi’s “Around Us”. That track… it made me feel for the first time. Sara B, the girl who had a crush on me in eleventh grade, I get you now. The Chainsmokers taught me how to love. Since then I’ve learned to take it, roll it up into a ball, toss it in the air and if there’s not a steady current of wind, I smash that into oblivion.

Picture yourself walking through the city late one night when you see a beautiful girl sitting in a coffee shop eating a plum. She is facing outward toward the street and the store’s walls are glass so you two can see each other. You want to go talk to her but you can’t find the door to get in. Not being able to figure out where the entrance is, you go up to the glass and relentlessly stare at her. Upon closer inspection you realize that she is in fact eating an oddly shaped apple not a plum. “Why are you eating an apple?” you mouth to her. You can hear her say through the glass while turning the apple “no no, this is a plum”. After seeing the flesh of the fruit it is indeed a plum.  You then turn around to go home and find $20 on the ground.

The combination of slight disappointment, confusion, and joy that night brings is what I think of their latest remix.

We also had a chance to talk to them about life’s most important questions, such as “If you were to suddenly wake up in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason and upon looking to the nearest wall saw a hole that has never been there before the size of the middle, cardboard part of a roll of toilet paper, would you stick stuff in it?”. Click past the break if you want to laugh, cry, and be inspired.
