Review | TimeFlies Take Dallas By Storm At The Palladium Ballroom [Exclusive]

Posted by on March 27, 2012

“Who are you here for?” a Palladium parking attendant asks as I roll my window down slowly.

“Timeflies and Sammy Adams…”

“You’re going to have the park in the lot behind you. This is reserved for the artists.” We pay our obligatory ten dollars to park, and walk to the side of the Palladium where Jared Glick, Timeflies’s manager, asks us to meet him before sound check.

It’s 6:45, and there’s already a line of overzealous fans forming at the door in the hopes to see Timeflies up close and personal.

Five minutes later, Cal Shapiro one-half of Timeflies, appears wearing a black cardigan hoodie and Ray-Ban sunglasses, greeting us as he walks up to the door.

Posted by on March 19, 2012

A little while back, Dutch DJ R3hab did a sick remix of Lady Gaga’s “Marry the Night.” Last night he released the instrumental on his SoundCloud (here). Perfect song to get that fist pump on. Get at R3hab’s Facebook page here.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep | Camo & Krooked — Between The Lines EP

Posted by on March 19, 2012

Where to even begin with this amazing remix EP. If you have heard any recent DnB sets by any artist, then you most likely have heard half of these tracks. This is definitely one of the most well rounded DnB EP’s; including everything from the heaviest DnB/Drumstep tracks to the most melodic form of DnB and everything in between. This Remix EP features all styles of DnB leaving nothing out and making sure everyones listening needs are fulfilled. Also included are two masterpiece originals by the duo which also have been highlights of most DnB sets. You can find the big names in this EP such as FuntCase and Fred V & Grafix as well as new comers, such as Dead Battery who won the remix competition. I wish I could go through and talk about how sensational, well-constructed and instrumentally genius each track is, but that would take me all day and all night. Hip-Hop | The Dean’s List ft. Dani Ummel- Hollywood

Posted by on March 13, 2012

“If we ever get to Hollywood, let it all out. Show em’ why you got yeah you got it no doubt. It’s all about the power, power’s alright, even when it stops we can party all night.” -Sonny Shotz

Hollywood is a place where they’ll pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and fifty cents for your soul. But you don’t have to tell the Dean’s List, as they’re back with a new single from their forthcoming “Generation X” project featuring Berklee college of music student Dani Ummel, outlining the pitfalls of the industry. Dani Ummel is no stranger to working with the super-duo, lending her vocals to “No Sleep” and “Light Up The Sky” on their previous “The Drive In” mixtape. Hollywood is calling. I predict The Dean’s List will answer with  “Generation X” on April 3rd.

Electro-House | U-Tern – You Don’t Know Me

This gem completely slipped under the radar in the US, this is a huge track from U-Tern. Great feel good, dance vibes on this freebie that was thrown together in just one night. This could easily become any person’s new favorite jam, it is definitely one of mine now for sure.

Electro-House | Major Lazer Ft. The Partysquad – Original Don (Kid Kaio Remix)

Posted by on February 10, 2012

There have been tons of remixes of this track, but in my opinion none top this one. This electro-house banger of Original Don is crazy. Friday night or Saturday night, this track should be played. It will get the room bumping no matter where you are. I can see why it was released as a freebie under Mad Decent.
