Please, please, please, do yourself a huge favor and pull out your bucket list, to-do list, or whatever you have. Cross out all the other items and write this on the top row, in big, bold letters: See a Sensation concert.
I love live music, so I’ve been to many concerts and festivals over the years in the United States. Many of them have been amazing, but Sensation in Copenhagen, Denmark just blew all my past concert experiences out of the water. If you’re not familiar with Sensation, it is a massive all-night electro/house event where everyone is required to wear white.
Last Weekend, I arrived to Parken Stadium a bit early to make sure to be able to catch all five DJs on the lineup for the night (Mr. White, Riva Starr, Man With No Shadow, Sharam and Sander Van Doorn). Despite the near-freezing weather, two hours before the doors had even opened the streets were completely packed with people creatively dressed head-to-toe in all white.
All of the friendly Danish people seemed to know the routine: pregame early, and get ready to rage until 3am. I’ve learned a lot while I’ve been abroad, but one of the main things that sticks out no matter what country I’m in is this: Europeans can party. I’ve never seen anything like it. Europeans have the ability to make us (Americans) look like 60 year olds ready for a jazz festival in the local park…

Fedde Le Grand fresh off of his performance at the first Sensation on US soil (there will be more), has put together the mix compilation for the event to help you relive those timeless memories of the best all night concert in the world. It is a two part mix CD that takes you on a journey of sound and style, much like the journey you experience at Sensation. The first CD leans more to the electro / progressive realm, utilizing lesser known tracks to keep the idea that the experience of the Sensation comes first and the DJ is secondary, including several from Fedde himself, Chris Lake & Lazy Rich “Stand Alone”, “Toxic Rush”, “Tombo” and others. The second CD gives the official ID&T package with a more clubby, techy sound that you would have heard at the night itself. Seemless transitions from one track to the next makes the 75 minutes on each CD fly by very quickly. After the jump are the tracklists and the sets from the both nights with their respective tracklists.
We are giving away two physical copies of the CD that cannot be bought in the US, so this is an opportunity that you do not want to pass up on. This is only open to residents of the United States unfortunately, but if you live here, you will want to get this CD you can’t are not able to purchase.

Events, Review | Nero, Adventure Club & Fareoh @ Hammerstein Ballroom 10/27

On Saturday when the dance music community was fawning over the fact that Sensation was on the second night of its US debut (some of them would later show up at this concert) Nero, Adventure Club, Fareoh and Alex English were putting on a clinic at Hammerstein Ballroom. While there were some issues with the sound in that the bass all came from the floor speakers and the mids and highs came from the hanging speakers, the overall production and atmosphere was great. Alex English started off the night with a good, energetic warm up set as the crowd slowly started to file in. Fareoh followed him up with a big room set mixing in his own remixes and originals with some well crafted bootlegs. This just happens to be Gazzo’s first upcoming Beatport release, it is a part of Kastra & Xristo’s upcoming single, “Warning.” Gazzo did an ultimate job yet again, this remix really gets you pumped up. His build up with the vocals is perfect beauty, and once you hit the drop there is nothing else left to do but let loose and dance the night away. Gazzo’s remix and the original are set to release on October 13th.
