Discover Pegah, the talented Danish vocalist and her sophomore single “1985,” a progressive pop record that I’ve had on repeat for the past 30 minutes, and I’m completely enchanted, and enthralled. “1985” is an anthem of a generation, and we’re getting old. With the Summer weather settling in, add this one to your Spotify playlist, if there was song that made me want to get a convertible, with some cool shades to vibe to, it’d be this one. you’re going to catch yourself cruising. This is a must listen and a beautiful find!

Alternative, RnB | Shoffy – Break The Rules

Just got this sent over to me, Shoffy, a new artist making some super classic RnB vibes and adding his own flare. I have been following his music for the past few months and I am so impressed with the quality. Not only is he making killer hooks, he is also producing all of the tunes he is putting out! Either way, grab the download above and take a listen to this great new release.

Progressive House | Calvin Harris feat. John Newman – Blame

Posted by on September 5, 2014

I love Calvin Harris. Not in your college-aged sorority chick that listens to nothing but progressive house and goes to Coachella wearing an Indian headdress and flash tattoos way. I actually like him because I think his production is a cut above. Sure Hardwell is the number one DJ, but Harris has achieved cross over status. This new release from Harris though? It’s not getting the job done. The writing is great. The vocals are great. The drop is..uneventful. John Newman is brilliant as always, but Calvin really missed the boat on this one. This had the potential to become a mega-smash solidifying his summer reign. In the grand scheme of things, this review won’t hurt “Blame’s” performance one bit. We don’t intend it to. Regardless, we have to call it like we see it. Calvin Harris’ new “Blame” single out now on Sony (UK) is a dud of a track.

Hip-Hop, Rap | Rome Fortune – Lights Low

Posted by on July 14, 2014

After premiering on Pitchfork earlier this week, Rome Fortune went on to gather up a gaggle of critical acclaim on his new release, “Lights Low”. Fortune stayed true to his trippy, dream-like sound gliding atop of the Four Tet production. And, although it is unclear how many more releases there might be before his next project, we can assume that we will be equally as impressed.

Rome Fortune just finished up his New York City debut show this week at the Hudson Project. Fortune is on to something big here, and it won’t be long before his Atlanta roots spread worldwide.
