Posted by VMan on September 10, 2022
Platinum certified producer, Bingo Players returns to UK leading independent label, Perfect Havoc, with the emotive, feelgood track ‘Phone A Friend (feat. Tia)’. Out today, 2nd September, the Dutch mega producer aka Maarten Hoogstraten only releases music to the highest standard and this latest commercial house cut neatly follows suit. Bingo Players needs little introduction. For over a decade, Maarten Hoogstraten has been dominating dancefloors and singles charts around the world with a style of dance music that has seen fans in their masses flock to sets at major festivals around the globe like Coachella, Tomorrowland, EDC Vegas and more.
With his late DJ/production partner Paul Bäumer, Bingo Players had huge success with the Top 40 global anthem ‘Cry (Just A Little)’, and in 2013 with the UK No. 1 single ‘Get Up (Rattle)’ where they made history as the first Dutch act to hit the top spot in 25 years. AfterPaul’s passing, Maarten came back with ‘Knock You Out’, a tribute to his lifelong friend, which became their first No.1 on the US Billboard Dance Chart. With over 20 million streams, it catapulted Bingo Players further into the mainstream.
Today Bingo Players’ sound as fresh as ever. Maarten’s 2020 rework of ‘Devotion’ became a hit for the second time around on Musical Freedom some 11 years after its initial release on Spinnin’ Records. Subsequent success came with the US Billboard Top 4 single ‘Forever Love’ with Disco Fries, and the heavily supported collaboration with fellow Dutchmen, Oomloud on ‘Brighter Days’.
To the very present, this latest single follows Bingo Players’ debut on Perfect Havoc alongside Oomloud in 2021 with ‘Touch & Go’. ‘Phone A Friend’’s retro sound are enhanced by soft synths, 80s-style percussion and a BP signature bassline. Singer Tia comes in with her dreamy vocals, longing after a lover she can phone from the bed (we’ve all been there, right?).
‘Phone A Friend’ is another solid release for Perfect Havoc. Shortlisted for Best Independent Record Label at the 2022 Music Week Awards, Perfect Havoc has carved out its niche of commercial dance with a smattering of the more club-focused sounds. Now having generated over 5 billion streams and given rise to six UK Top 20 singles, including the No.1 single ‘Head & Heart’ by four-time Brit Award-nominated producer Joel Corry & MNEK, it’s one of the most consistently successful indies in recent years.
With a talent-packed schedule still to release in 2022 including cuts from Oliver Nelson and James Hurr, Ros T, Parx and many more, Perfect Havoc continues to serve up accessible and underground house sounds from both breaking and established talent.

Chill | Musical Freedom Artist Zaxx Returns After Near-Year Break With Indie Single “Me”
Posted by VMan on August 29, 2017
Zaxx is on the rise again after taking about a year break. The solo artist has been out of the picture for a while, but has revisited his old project and revitalized it with new music that he plans on continuing to release this year. “Me,” a cover of the The 1975, puts a modern, but dark spin on the single. If sounding different was his goal, Zaxx has gone above and beyond in that area.
A quick look at his SoundCloud will show that Zaxx has been released on Tiesto’s label Music Freedom as well as had a single on the Netflix film XOXO, huge props on the placement there. Curious to see what happens next with Zaxx.

Dzeko & Torres have benefited from Tiësto’s immense recent support, consistently playing their remixes and originals out over the past few months. This has all culminated in an end of the year release on his esteemed Musical Freedom. “Highline” brings the melodic prowess we have seen from the duo in their recent releases and possibly takes it to new heights.

Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Moska Talks Beginnings, His Future and Dishes Advice to Other New Producers
Posted by Middy on July 26, 2013
Colombian producer Moska is a name being heavily supported by some of the biggest brands in the industry. At just 19 years old, his talents are nothing to ignore. Having already released tracks on Musical Freedom, Mad Decent and Mixmash, receiving heavy support from each of the label bosses, Tiesto, Diplo and Laidback Luke, and played or been scheduled to play at some of the biggest venues worldwide, Moska has his sights at the top of the dance music echelon. His genre-blending sound allows him to cross over to so many different styles, having already collabed with Tiesto on their remix of “Century”.
He plans to move to Miami by the end of the year to move his base of operations to one of the meccas of dance music today. One issue that has held him back is visa problems, specifically the O-2 visa that holds back his ability to work in the US. The O-2 is designed for people in the entertainment industry, notably individuals new or unrecognized in the industry as per the US government. Because of this, he has to be working alongside Laidback Luke, his current sponsor and any other work would be considered a violation of his visa. So shows, studio time and any professional work has to go through Luke, which can really hinder his growth as an artist here, especially when promotors want to book him. However all of this should be resolved with by the end of the year with many fees paid, lawyers hired, letters sent to the government by Tiesto, Laidback Luke & others, and pages, upon pages of documents sent, he should be fine to go on Laidback Luke’s Fall bus tour in October.
We had the chance to talk to him about his bright future, how he got into electronic music, working with Tiesto and some advice he gave for young producers, like himself.
