Coming off the success of their inaugural festival, Billboard’s renowned Hot 100 Music Festival is making its triumphant return to New York City this summer, welcoming over 40 top-tier artists spread across three stages. This year’s festival will be headlined by the likes of Calvin Harris, Ariana Grande, and J. Cole, with a slew of undercard artists stellar enough to rival even some of the biggest festivals in the country. With artists like Gryffin, Madeon, Prince Fox, Niykee Heaton, and more, all slated to play at Nikon Jones Beach Theater this summer, Billboard’s Hot 100 Music Festival is one you don’t want to miss. With festival season in full swing, it seems like there’s a brand new festival with an impressive lineup popping up every weekend. Like most people, it’s never easy for me to decide which festival is worth my money, especially with so many great festivals to choose from, and unfortunately, festival scheduling just got a little harder because Billboard is entering the festival space with their very own Billboard Hot 100 Music Festival. The premise of the Billboard’s festival is to feature artists on their Top 100 charts, and with headlining performances by pop stars like Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and Nicki Minaj, there will be no shortage of top 40 music. Dance music stars like Skrillex, Kygo, and Axwell /\ Ingrosso are all slated to play the Billboard Hot 100 Festival as well. Information and tickets to the Hot 100 Festival are available for purchase here.

Progressive House | Mariah Carey – You’re Mine (Fedde Le Grand Remix)

I know I’m usually late to the party, but I had no clue Mariah Carey had a new single, nor that Fedde Le Grand remixed it, but somehow “You’re Mine (Eternal)” Fedde Le Grand’s remix managed to make it to my ears, and I’m glad it did. Ultranauts (those who were at Ultra music festival) can you confirm if this track was played at Ultra? I can only imagine this tune hitting the spot in a festival setting, heck, it’s hitting the spot in my headphones at my desk! No doubt about it this is a must listen!

The Queen of Bass Ayah Marar just released visuals for her latest banger “Keep Me Up” produced by Hospital Record’s own Metrik, and I can’t get enough of this chick. My first intro to these two working together is on Metrik’s remix of Mrs Marar’s “Unstoppable” off her album “The Real” and when Mistajam from BBC Radio 1xtra made the announcement that he was going to premiere their latest collaboration, I knew it’d get real. This is a must listen and check the shots of Ayah and her team of MCs as they take over New Zealand and perform at the Rhythm & Vines music festival!

If you’re wondering what this particular music festival is all about, this mixtape should pretty much bring you up to date with the South X South West selections via Young California.

Electronic | Oliver – Mechanical Remixes

Posted by on October 24, 2013

Okay so I’ve been a bit all over the place the past week so this post may be a tad over due but bear with me – it’s incredibly vital to your well being and the entirety of your weekend. The charismatic DJ duo Oliver released their Mechanical EP through Fool’s Gold earlier this year and were showered in success. Like, if you didn’t hear “MYB” at a music festival at least 5 times this summer then you son were at all the wrong music festivals. Anyways, last week they debuted their Mechanical remixes and literally each track is a hands-down 10. The first remix is brought to us by the one and only Dillon Francis who shot “Night Is On My Mind” with a full injection of bonafied Dillon, with that one and only moombatastic, speaker-shattering sound you can trust. The second remix from Nom De Strip was an unexpected favorite, a big room rework of “Control” that is undoubtedly, well, out of control. Next up, a freaky deep remix of “MYB” from FNT favorite Tchami, which adds a nice new perspective to the original. The EP finishes off strong courtesy of upcoming producer Values, who takes us on a heavenly, melodic journey throughout the remix of title-track “Mechanical.” If Values wasn’t on your radar before, I think this track will guarantee he ends up dead center in the near future. And you know, I want to say the last one will end being the one you play on repeat, but the truth is the whole compilation works so well together you probably won’t be able to settle on just one track. Unfortunately it’s not available for free download but grow a pair a drop the few bucks necessary so these DJs can bring home the bacon at the end of the day. Plus then you can have these remixes readily available because you never know when you might need them this weekend… OoOoOoOoOh!
