Trap | FNT Premiere: ENFERNO Goes HAM with “NoNoNo”

Former DMC Champion, and turntablist veteran Enferno, releases a new original single ‘NoNoNo,’ blending moombahton with house and trap vibes.  My first thought listening to this track was this is David Guetta & Nikki Minaj’s “Hey Mama” on speed, but then I came up with another analogy, this is Bakermat’s “Another Man” on crack, and I mean this with all respect towards Enferno, for all my ragers, who just can’t get down with the chill, but rather would get turned up with the hype and the beats. Festival season is an order, don’t be surprised to hear your favorite DJ dropping “NoNoNo,” at a festival near you, we got the premiere! This is a must listen!

Before I even begin, there are two things I need to get off my chest: 1. I’m in a moombahton state of mind today, and 2. I’m a sucker for Summer country records. With that said, Johnny_beats just sent over his latest remix of Frankie Ballard’s “Sunshine & Whiskey” and it sounds like a lady in the street, but a freak in the bed. At first listen you think, here we go again for another melodic deep house remix of a track I’ve never heard, but then the hook kicks “and everytime you kiss me” the bass drops! That’s how johnny_beats does it. This is a must listen and a must download!

Bass lovers, Ravi B. has something for ya’ll, remixing the likes of Salt Ashes‘ “Somebody,” layering heavy moombahton sounds on Salt’s chilling vocals, which would make Dillon Francis proud if he heard it. The drop is one to get you going bonkers. DJs if you’re reading this, you’re going to want to include this in your festival sets. Ravi B. kills it once again with the remix game for your pre-game enjoyments! This is a must listen and support by copping it on Beatport!

Flaxo. So hot right now. Flaxo. Coming in hot from NYC, Flaxo puts his moombahton spin Photo Finish Record’s Misterwives that just had an awesome showing down in Austin at SXSW. Keep your eye on this Flaxo guy. He’s going places, and he’s got a super manager in Zac Bluestone. Shout out to Greg Ramey at Nue Agency!

Events, Home, Review, Videos | Aokify America: Steve Aoki x Borgore x Waka Flocka Flame (Recap)

Posted by on November 21, 2013

The title says it all – Dim Mak hooked FNT up with passes so that we could cover the show. Steve Aoki, Borgore, and Waka Flocka made a dream team on Saturday night at the Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco, and they put on one hell of a show. Check out the media gallery below (especially the POV recap video), and make sure to check out the rest of the tour’s stops before you miss it altogether here.

To give you a better picture of what the concert was like, keep in mind that the show was somehow sold out (it was at the Civic Center in San Francisco, imagine how many people it takes to sell out a concert there). Borgore had an incredible opening set, playing his classics as you’d expect (e.g. Nympho). But, he surprised everyone towards the end of his set when he started dropping some unheard trap and moombahton – some HEAVY trap and moombahton I might add. By this point, everyone was completely riled up – but it doesn’t stop there because just when it seemed like a peak, Borgore brought out Waka Flocka who yelled an entire verse to a wild audience.

But hold up – Steve Aoki starts his set at this point. Mind-blowing is an understatement. Between his stage dives, cake throws, bottle pops, and raft rides, Steve Aoki slapped his bangers so hard that his dad’s restaurants almost went out of business (his dad owns Benihana’s). He played every song that you would wish he would play live. And he killed all of them.

Moral of the story is, if you didn’t go, you missed out. Put Aoki on the bucket list.
