Moombahton | Moombah Mondays

Nothing too crazy this week as far as Moombahton goes, so we will keep this edition of Moombah Mondays nice and short. UKF and xKore decided they were going to give away a track off of his upcoming EP on Inspected and out of all the tracks it was his Moombahcore one entitled Everybody Rock. I know xKore has been producing some Moombahton tunes in the past few months, but I wasn’t expecting this to be on his EP. Some nice vocals on the track along with some nice trancey synths that build and lead straight into a pretty heavy Moombahton/xKore-synth infused drop. You can download the track through the UKF youtube page.
I was caught off guard again, but this time with this remix by Nadastrom. I didn’t see this Zeds Dead track every being remixed into a Trap-Bass styled remix and especially not by Nadastrom. Either way I don’t think it turned out too bad, but definitely unique and original. Waiting for a release date on this one.
I knew I could count on Dface to come through with a Moombahton track for this weeks Moombah Mondays, and he did. It seems as though the surge of Moombahton tracks has finally died out and everyone is slowly moving their way towards Moombahcore and Trap, which is sad to see. The first few months when Moombah Mondays began I had so many amazing tracks to choose from and was always left in an abundance, but now it seems as though nobody wants to make any more Moombahton. Dface did his thing on this track and I’m feeling it. I love that he sticks to his own and doesn’t give into whatever is popular at the time. That increased my level of respect for him as an artist.

Summer has been getting the best of me so far, as far as Moombah Mondays are concerned. I have been falling behind so yet again I have to get you guys updated on the Moombah scene. Tittsworth, Rez & Des McMahon newest EP dropped a few days back and after listening to it for a few days it is safe to say it was worth the purchase. All the tracks bring a new aspect to the Moombah game and show a spark of new originality from all these artist brought into all the tracks on the EP.
Whenever there is a release from Dillon Francis coming up I am always excited to see what style he decided to choose. Looks like he is slowly digging back into Moombahton, but with some more hard hitting synths compared to his uplifting ones from his earlier remixes. In other news he also announced another upcoming release in July titled “This Ones 4 Munchi”. Not sure why, but just by the title I am dying to hear what he has mixed together for this one.
Swatdojo nailed this genre combination between Electro and Moombahton. Keeping that heavy Electro bounce with the slowed down BPM, as well the latin percussions. He won me over with this remix and got me listening to this track again, even though there are a million remixes of it.
Milo & Otis have yet to drop the ball as far as releases go. I can’t point out one track they have given away that has disappointed me. Something tells me we are going to be seeing these guys on some tour schedules pretty soon. I love the reggae/island influence on this track alongside the uplifting synth melody; not to mention the heavy bassy drop.
Munchi slowly resurfacing on his social medias these past few weeks and his biggest upload has been this killer, hour long Moombahton mix. Packed with so many exclusives and aggressive remixes, which now explain what he has been doing this whole time. The untitled collaboration with Bro Safari has to be my favorite track on. I haven’t heard anything like it before and I am waiting impatiently to hear about a release for this tune.

What is happening to the quality of free released Moombahton these days? I used to be overloaded with the amount Moombah that was around just a few months ago, but it looks like all of sudden Trap has become the new Moombah. Either way I will do my best to filter out what is left of the good Moombahton and Moombahcore. First up is a heavier than usual Moombahcore original from SubVibe and Muzik’s Last Chance. Not usually what I would go for on Moombah Mondays, but this is what has been hot the past few days as far as Moombah for me.
Although this next one is a Mashup, it is from an artist I can always count on when it comes to Moombahton bangers. A nice little funky fusion of Anger Dimmas and Diplo X Vato Gonzalez to get the job done on this uneventful Monday.
This last one is also something different from this artist. We usually see HULK dropping some of the heaviest, hardcore dubstep out there, but today they decided to give away this funky Moombah remix to a Kavinsky track. Still keeping some of their trademark heavy sounds throughout this remix, they were able to funk it down to 110 bpm and keep a little bit of Kavinsky in there as well.

We’re finally back with another edition of the good ole Moombah Monday’s. This week I will stick to what you guys have been asking for, and that’s nothing but that 110bpm goodness. D!RTY AUD!O decided to crank out a heavy Moombahcore original track today and thank god I held off a little so I could post it on here. The melody in this track is one of a kind with a grimey, thick drop. We don’t usually see these heavy sounds from him, but he nailed this mix on point.
Will Bailey contributing some Moombahcore this week as well with a heavy hitting original entitled Spider. Seems as though the only thing separating Moombahton and Dubstep these days is the bpm. The sounds are slowly merging into one and this is a good example of it.
Alright you guys have to excuse me for being a little on this next remix, but what a remix it is. I couldn’t help myself but be overjoyed when I heard this remix all the way through today. It was not even close to what I was expecting to hear. The build up to the drop had me sitting on the edge of my seat, and it was well worth the wait. The best way to to try and explain this track is by letting you hear it.

Moombahton | Moombah Mondays (Trap Edition)

Moomba Blasta has been on point with their Trap uploads lately, and they have won me over. Honestly I cannot get enough of Trap-style after roaming through their youtube channel so I decided this weeks Moombah Mondays is going to be dedicated to Trap-style tracks. Starting off with the above track; wow do I love those vocals. The quick drums and snares accompanied by that heavy bass kick are bound to get the job done for any crowd. Whether you like it or not Flosstradamus, being one of the big names in Trap, is having their tracks played out by all the big names; Diplo, Flux Pavillion, Dillon Francis just to name a few. Just to help broaden your views on the genre I have two tracks from Flosstradamus on this weeks Trap-style Mondays. One is an old track that I just fell in love with again after hearing it being freestyled over by Papoose on Sway In The Morning, 5 Fingers of Death Freestyles. The newer one entitled Look At The Sky, gives you a taste of some hip-hop infused Trap music. Both bringing some extreme boundaries together into one amazing genre that is still growing.
This next one is a secret weapon of Luminox’s that he was kind enough to give away. I never new the famous Bingo Players track Rattle would ever be pushed to these bounds, but this is one of my favorite remixes to the track. The prolonged bass kick, fits perfectly with this melody and the reversal of the melody on the second drop worked out phenomenally.
Another truly remarkable and unique interpretation of a big dubstep track. Doctor P decided to put his single Neon up for a remix competition and so far most artist have decide to just try their hand at it, but end up giving away their remixes. This one I was happy to have from CRNKN, because it is so organized and well constructed. Nothing feels forced or out of place like I have heard with other tracks. I would love to see this sort of track being played more by big EDM artist to help expand these smaller genres.

So many new sick genre’s emerging out of no where. Trapstyle tracks are slowly becoming a crowd favorite and although there is no exact home for Trap style tracks here yet, I felt they best fit in the Moombah family just bumped up a notch. Be on the lookout for Flosstradamus if you haven’t been already, because these guys are destroying all things in their path. Big ups to them, and you can DL the track in the video description above. Another duo quickly growing in Moombah, gLAdiators, with this dope remix releasing soon.
Adding Vaski now to the list of artist producing Moombahton. When I heard this track I was quickly reminded of Helicopter Showdowns – Dramatron VIP. Nevertheless, great track overall from him.
Aylen is back at it again with his popish, electro, trance Moombahton. Obviously he doesn’t like to restrict himself to one mindset, which is clearly working for him and giving signs of new life to Moombahton. The only problem is I can’t put up a preview because he is having Soundcloud copyright issues so you have to click the link below to listen to track. The download link is provided on Soundcloud as well.

Couldn’t wait until Moombah Mondays for this track. I have been posting about since I heard it in DJ mixes and the previews of it. That unique style that D!RTY AUD!O brings always grasps my attention. The killer dirty dutch/moombahton blend drop just takes this track to another level. The 2edit and Aaron Prime remix on this EP also puts a nice progressive house twist on the original by Leisure. Grab these tracks on Beatport HERE.
