Progressive House | OneRepublic – If I Lose Myself (Alesso Remix)

Damn you Beatport, this morning in the midst of an all-nighter, I saw that this sublime track was released, but in my delirious state of excitement I was directed to the screen hated by so many saying that the track was territory restricted. I was ready to blog so hard this morning all over this song, yet I fell asleep before that restriction was lifted, so here I am just a tired and somewhat less inspired blogger trying to describe to you the magic Alesso infuses into One Republic’s latest single “If I Lose Myself”. The track, which Alesso finished his mainstage set at weekend 2 of Ultra, provides the same melodic character as his “Silenced By The Night” remix, with a euphoric synth lead that is sure to make this an early summer hit. Coming off the release “Rage“, we are starting to what life after SHM is going to be for Sebastian Ingrosso and Refune.

Dubstep | Singularity Ft. Nilu – Horizon

Singularity - Horizon (ft. Nilu)Together, Singularity and Nilu melt hearts. This track is beautiful. Nilu’s voice is the perfect addition to these incredible melodic instrumentals. The drop makes me think of a blend of Zedd and Seven Lions, which might be the most popular combo created. Truly and excellent job from Singularity and Nilu. “Horizon” is the title track from Singularity’s upcoming EP, releasing April 30th.

Progressive House | Pryda – Power Drive

Fitting on a day filled with trickery, deception and tomfoolery, there is a release from one of the few truths in dance music, Eric Prydz. “Power Drive” is one of those tracks that you don’t necessarily know when it is going to hit, but when it does, it smacks you across the face like a backhand from Mr T. In his first release of the year, Eric Prydz delves into the mind of Pryda, slowing building with a super melodic amalgamation of piano, arps and synths that crescendoes into an infectious driving low end, bringing in many of those elements from the build in a display of raw force from the melodic master. If this is any indication after his incredible Essential Mix to start the year and with an Eric Prydz album slated for release this year (we hope), he shows no signs of letting up as one of the best in the game.

Progressive House | Kaskade & Swanky Tunes feat. Lights – No One Knows Who We Are (Tim Mason Remix)

The original was something I was not too fond of and seemed to be begging for a remix, especially with the vocals from Lights shining like a bright light on a pitch black night. Tim Mason comes to the rescue with another vintage remix from the Brighton man, who is on the heals of his outstanding original on Size Records released last month “Swoon“. The Size Records man gives this huge collab the melodic spin the track desperately needed with an upbeat, progressive melody and fast moving synths. Kaskade has been playing out the original lately, but hopefully he will switch it up and incorporate this remix into his sets more.

The dance music world is paying homage to Swedish House Mafia for their epic farewell at Ultra tonight, but that does not mean the rest of the music has stopped. Wolfgang Gartner’s revived Kindergarten Records has decided to give away 4 tracks from some of its brightest talents on the label. You might expect some subpar throwaways to be mixed in with these freebees, but that is absolutely not the case. Taking tracks from the labels brightest up and coming talents, DallasK, Popeska, Charlie Darker & Conro, these four tracks bring together the unique electro house sound that you would expect from them with tough, melodic properties. With 4 free downloads from these names and each standing out on their own, you won’t want to pass up on this.

With already 3 huge releases under its belt this year, Size Records brings out its next weapon from German producer, Moguai, who is coming quick out of the gate this year with his chart topping release “Mammoth” and now this recently previewed release on Size. “Champs” provides a subtle toughness, much like that seen in “Mammoth”, while still remaining true to many of the melodic hallmarks we saw on his 2012 artist album “Mpire”. As the 99th release on Size Records, we have to hope that the 100th release during this 100 to 100 campaign will be something from Steve, possibly his collab with Matisse & Sadko.
