Dubstep | Drake – Started From The Bottom (Feature Cuts Remix) [Music Video]

Posted by on February 13, 2013

Ever since Drake released “Started From The Bottom” a little over a week ago, it was only a matter of time before it was remixed and remixed it has. You’ve heard the many renditions from rappers all over the globe but you haven’t heard anything like Feature Cuts’ remix of the track. He takes the memorable chorus and turns it into Drumstep call for celebration. I guarantee you will have this one on repeat, so download it for free below.

“It’s been a little over a year now, and what a crazy trip this has been thus far. Sometimes I am overwhelmed with the reality that I live. However, at the end of the day I just take some time to remember what it was like when I first started. I truly hope that everyone who pursues their dreams may achieve them. Struggles make the reward sweeter. There’s still a ways to go, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.” – Feature Cuts

Progressive House | Leventina & Dinka – Elements (2013 Reload)

Swiss producers Leventina & Dinka go back in the vault and dig up Dinka’s single “Elements” from her 2009 “Elements EP” and give it a makeover that makes it work in 2013. They make sure to keep the same smooth, progressive sound from the original with its outstanding arps and deft key play, but it is clear that Leventina was the one primarily orchestrating the 2013 update as you can hear their electro growls and punchy bass lines pervade throughout, while Dinka did some tinkering with the melody. Leventina continue to impress with every release and while fellow Helvetic Nerds comrades EDX & Dinka enjoy the brunt of the Swiss producer spotlight, it is only a matter of time before they get their fair share of it as well.

Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap, RnB | DyMe-A-DuZin – Memories (Prod. By Harry Fraud)

Posted by on January 8, 2013

Honestly, I’m not quite sure about the story on this track, or Dyme-A-Duzin for that matter. After a quick research trek consisting of a 20 second visit to his Twitter bio, I learned he is a Warner Bros artist and also a frontman for the very talented Phony Ppl. What I also know is that he is able to have the honor of rapping over a Harry Fraud beat, which in our present age, is a hot commodity. This beat is absolutely incredible, which is what I’ve come to expect from La Musica De Harry Fraud. Download the track and lookout for his mixtape, A Portrait of Donnovan, which is being released on January 16th.

Electro-House | Keane – Sovereign Light Café (Afrojack Remix)

Posted by on December 24, 2012

With Alesso remixing Keane’s very successful single “Silenced By The Night” to rave reviews, it was only a matter of time before another big name producer got their hands on a Keane track and made it their own. Afrojack slowly builds with a slow easy piano and the outstanding vocals from lead singer Tom Chaplin and then adds a blistering drop of pitched synths and a fast moving bass line. On the heals of his chart topping single “Annie’s Theme” and his upcoming remix for one billion youtube views “Gangnam Style”, as well as hosting a huge Jacked event on Pier 94 to ring in the New Year, Afrojack is continuing to assert his worldwide dominance on dance music.

Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap | Jetpack Jones – Know Now ft. Chief (Prod. By Incise)

Posted by on December 1, 2012

Jetpack Jones is back with a new…sort of…track. “Know Now” was originally recorded under Jetpack’s previous pseudonym, VenoM. I like his new name, and movement, for that matter, much better. This song was one of the first songs that really convinced me the Lakewood native had talent. I’m sure many of you haven’t heard this song, so I’m happy to introduce it to you. I first saw “Know Now” when it was featured on one of my favorite blogs, The Kollection, over a year ago. About 4 months after that, I became a writer for The Kollection, and the rest is history. I hope you’ve enjoyed the brief glimpse into Joseph Salzer’s blogstar past, but that’s not the point of this post. Grab the track for free below and follow the Jetpack Movement captain on twitter here.

Dubstep, Videos | Subscape – Graveyard Shift (Elements)

Posted by on October 8, 2012

Part 3 of Subscape’s 4 part series, “Elements” is finally here. “Graveyard Shift” represents the element of Earth, but does not really sound like anything Earth-like. I would say this track has a spacey, more traveling the universe at high speeds feel. That doesn’t really matter though, this is an incredible melodic Dubstep track, one of Subscape’s best. Part 4 of the series is Fire, but make sure you also check out AIR WATER.

Alternative, Videos | Adele – Skyfall

Posted by on October 4, 2012

Adele was chosen by MGM Studios to give the new James Bond movie, “Skyfall,” some true English style. Co-written with Paul Epworth, Adele pushes her voice to another extreme. This extreme is not high notes but the deep classicalism she portrays with her voice, taking you back to the original days of James Bond and the class and suave that is he. The video above disappointingly does not depict much James Bond, but after taking a few full listens it just doesn’t even matter. Adele is one of the greatest singers in the world, not just because she can sing well but she can sing differently when it calls and continue to bring tears to the eyes of those who listen. “Skyfall” is now available for purchase on iTunes.
