Bass, Dubstep | Black Tiger Sex Machine’s LP New Worlds Extends Beyond Music
Posted by VMan on March 8, 2018
When people release albums, they tend to be a simple collection of records that they’ve been working on over the course of a set period of time. With Black Tiger Sex Machine, that’s sort of the case, but the Kannibalen Records trio do more than just create a solid album with New Worlds. With this project the group built a section of their own universe, full of tales and adventures that live through the each single. The New Worlds concept album shows just what can be done with bass music – it almost feels like a sci-fi score rather than an “EDM” album. Leave it to BTSM to do something this incredible. Check out the album and make sure to check them out on their Ceremony tour that just started if they make a stop near you!
Chill, Indie | Kai Straw Exceeds All Expectation With GUN LP
Posted by VMan on February 7, 2018
Kai Straw’s album GUN is something I’ve been waiting on since I heard the first single several months ago. A couple other singles have made their way out since then and they had me at the edge of my seat. The thing is when you anticipate something, you create an expectation for it. Whatever I had in mind was completely shattered when I ran through this LP the first time. It’s just incredible. The song writing is as good as it gets and Kai gracefully bounces between genres on this one making it a journey from start to finish. If you could only listen to one album this week, you’d make it this one.
Dubstep, Electro-House | Apashe Goes All Out With 16 Track Remix LP
Posted by VMan on August 2, 2017
Usually when a remix project comes along it’s a small EP with a few to several tracks. Apashe didn’t want to do that for his Copter Boy LP. Instead he enlisted sixteen remixers to take on his one-of-a-kind project to make yet another one-of-a-kind project. The remixers include Ganja White Night, Dodge & Fuski, DISKORD, Arius, Goja and many others. All together this LP offers a wide array of sounds and styles, but centers in upon the bass scene. It’s Apashe and Kannibalen Records, you didn’t think you’d get away from the heavy stuff did you?
Hip-Hop, Indie | Ash Riser Goes All In With Massive Ghosts LP
Posted by VMan on July 12, 2017
It’s not often you see seventeen singles on an LP from an independent artist. That didn’t matter to producer/emcee Ash Riser whose Ghosts album comes in deep with that many tracks. From start to finish, he doesn’t disappoint in the slightest. Ghosts provides variety and skill that is unmatched by most artists today. As you may imagine from the name and cover art, this project is steeped with dark tones and a certain savage edge to it that must be experienced. It’s not often you sit back and absorb a whole album, but do do so with this massive LP.
Pop | Pop Princess Taylor Grey Releases Debut LP Space Case
Posted by VMan on June 20, 2017
Pop music is all over the place nowadays, but Taylor Grey is ringing it in with her vision of where the all encompassing “pop” genre can go. She’s recently delivered her debut LP, Space Case, with a dozen songs on the tracklist. The album take influence from a wide range of genres, but hones in one the pop meets dance music sound that so many people are trying to nail nowadays. Taylor is one of the few really nailing it though. I can’t remember the last time I ran through an entire pop album like this, but I did. Call it a guilty pleasure – whatever you deem it, it’s a good one.
Albums, Electro, Electro-House, Electronic, House, Progressive House | Hardwell releases single ‘Eclipse’ from upcoming album, United We Are
Posted by Juicebox on January 13, 2015
After dominating the dance music scene for the past couple years, fans have been eagerly awaiting Hardwell to release a debut album and last month the Dutch pioneer announced the full tracklist for his debut LP, “United We Are.” To begin the monsoon of anticipation, Robbert van de Corput has released the first single titled, “Eclipse,” of which he played for Miami at Ultra Music Festival 2014.
Although deep house is having its time in the spotlight currently, Hardwell sticks to his guns and maintains his signature big room sound that fans have grown to love. The main stage veteran sends shivers down listeners spines from start to finish with classical strings, ear-numbing basslines, and expertly aligned synth harmonies to exhibit his musical mastery. This is the first taste that will have fans fiending more as we inch closer to the album’s release.
