House | Nalin & Kane – Beachball (EDX’s Indian Summer Remix)
Posted by Middy on July 15, 2013
This is another one of those tracks that you can’t really think too much about. Yes it’s true that EDX questionably produces his own tracks (get to know Chris Reece), but this remix is the sublime work we can come to the Swiss DJ for. EDX gives us the sound we have come to love from him with lush pads, unassuming percussion, a soaring female vocal sample from the original and vintage EDX chords. This “Indian Summer” remix is what you want from him, and as a free download, you have yourself a winner.

Electro-House | Ak9 – Ye (Cormak Remix)
Posted by Mach on July 12, 2013
Holy hell, these are the tracks I like to have on a Friday. Cormak is pushing to break 100 likes on Facebook right now and just drop this banging Electro-House remix. The intro has a calm progressive feel to it, but don’t let that tell you what the rest of the song will sound like. The drop is full of so much energy all you can think to do is rage to the bass. Show Cormak some love for this incredible tune.

Hip-Hop | Jetpack Jones – Golden Skeletons (Feat. James Joseph)
Posted by J_Salzer on July 10, 2013
FNT favorite and faithful Jetpack Jones dropped a gem about 10 days ago but I missed it, surprising, I know. It has less than one thousand plays, so you will all still be among the first to hear it, which I’m sure your ecstatic about. Golden Skeleton’s is featuring James Joseph, who was also featured on my favorite Jetpack release of all time, Solar. James has a knack for creating catchy hooks and his entrancing voice always leaves you wanting more. Jetpack’s verses are solid as always, as his consistency is something I’ve come to love in a world where every rapper has a copycat flow. Check out the track below and be on the lookout for the full Beyond Infinity project dropping soon.
Electronic | Kill Paris – Falling In Love Again (Feat. Marty Rod & Alma)
Posted by mimada on July 9, 2013
I know it’s probably still light out depending on your time zone, so consider this late night jam your little afternoon delight. Marty Rod and Alma’s vocals are sweet as honey, alluding to an intimate love scene in the back hallway of night club. Then, the duo trigger the drop with their harmonious line, Falling in love again, just like it is in real life. Or so I’m guessing.
Give yourself a chance to fall in love and save up your pennies to catch Kill Paris (and many more!) on the OWSLA stage this September at Tomorrow World.

Progressive House | First State ft. Fenja – Battle Of Hearts
Posted by Mel on July 8, 2013
Ever since I first heard a preview of this last month, I have been eagerly awaiting today’s date. First State makes some incredible progressive tracks and this is no different. I just love everything about this song. There is no further description needed. Take a listen, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
Dubstep | Urbanstep – Voices
Posted by Mach on July 1, 2013
I can’t help but be disappointed in Dubstep this year, with so many people trying to produce it now it’s hard to find new Dubstep that truly blows you away. Urbanstep seems to be one of the few that can still do that with me, this new original of his is breath taking. The build up right before the drop gets you amped up, but the drop itself takes me back to the days when I first fell in love with Dubstep.

Chill, Compilation, Indie | Teen Daze – Lost Songs (30 track compilation)
Posted by Mel on June 30, 2013
I am well aware that progressive house has become generic, overplayed, mainstream, and incredibly formulaic (also stupid and fat), but I still love it. With that said, I also really enjoy slower, chill sounds. Songs that you can play while knitting a sweater for your grandmother or even just while you stand at the stove stirring that damn macaroni and cheese for 8 minutes. Songs like these are very different from house. They also aren’t as mass produced and oversaturated as house is. It is for these reasons that I was very pleased to find Fraser Valley native, Teen Daze giving away 30 of his unfinished, or “lost” songs for free. I have listened to all 30 and, for the most part, they’re all great. I will say though, I’d go with “Lost Songs 3” as my favorite compilation. The download links to the three compilations are below as well as arguably the top songs from each respective pack on Soundcloud, just to give you a taste. If the redundancy of whatever your preferred genre provides has got you looking for a breath of fresh air then this is it.
