Pop | The Streakers Would Like You to “Shut Up!”
Posted by BIGLIFE on February 19, 2015
NYC based artists, Larcy and Taylor Wise, teamed up earlier this week to form Streakers, a promising indi-pop duo. Empowered by their love for melodically-based songwriting and production, Streakers release their first offering in the form of “Shut Up!”. Ethereal and sanguine, “Shut Up” takes the listener on a melodic ride that tempts you to take your top off. I expect this to do well on Hypem.
Bass, Trap | Astronaut & Far Too Loud – War (Diskord Remix)
Posted by JT on February 12, 2015
Holy… To all the trap DJ’s out there if you’re sleeping on this one give your head a shake. It’s the perfect piece for a transition, an intro, a crowd hype – you name it. Diskord’s remix to Astronaut & Far Too Loud’s ‘War’ is jaw dropping with its digital synths and glass shattering bass making it the perfect addition to the ‘War’ EP. The EP itself has a variety of sounds and it’s posted below but Diskord highlights why I fell in love with the Monstercat label in the first place.
House | Armada’s CALVO Remixes R.S.’s “Show Me Love”
Posted by BIGLIFE on January 18, 2015
Calvo! So hot right now. Calvo! Recently signing to Armada, Germany’s CALVO keeps the momentum going with another incredible remix, capturing that future house vibe that we love here. Supported by the likes of Oliver Heldens and more, CALVO is an artist we predict will have a break out year in 2015. Something tells me we’ll be getting a few official remixes and originals from this rising star soon.

When I covered Dan Sieg’s A Sense Of Wonder I never thought I would one day be posting up a track I can easily refer to as one that qualifies parallel emotion. Blugazer’s remix to this beautiful track is pure magic. Adding his own simple touches Blugazer transforms “Horizons” into a translucent love piece, with perfect transitions and added chimes and chords that just carry me away. With such sensation backing this remix, I can’t seem to take it off repeat.

Sigma’s “Nobody To Love” was a huge record, and Treo, the trio from LA, took the Drum n Bass record to Electro-house land, layered with a progressive/pop vibe for that crossover appeal. You loved the sample in the Kanye West record “Bound 2” and you’ll love this remix by Treo! This is a must listen and a must download!

Posted by BIGLIFE on January 9, 2015
Coming as no news to us, Zeds Dead (who confirmed the collaboration at Lights All Night) and Oliver Heldens preview their “You Know” collaboration due out February 2nd on Spinnin’ Records. You know what grinds my gears? We had the scoop two weeks before anyone else. Of course, other blogs get the credit. Doesn’t matter though, we love to get too deep, and we’ll continue to bring the exclusives.
Can you guess the sample? It goes something like this.

Hip-Hop | Nell Premiers The First Gem Off “The Screw Tape”
Posted by VMan on January 4, 2015
What is a Hip-hop track without the desire to recite and repeat lyrics? The answer is nothing, you don’t quote Dre or Kendrick because they suck. Sure, people love their beats these days, but that doesn’t make a track. Premiering Nell’s upcoming mixtape, “The Screw Tape”, “Comin Down” turns out to be a dope way to move up. DJ Screw and El Camino Black set the scene for us while Nell takes their seductive beat and flows like the wine of Gaston’s fountain. How can you say no to wine? It’s good for the heart.
